Nice place to stay

Not a perfect place, but we’ll suited for our needs. Staff are very very accommodating for your needs. There also very friendly, and helpful. The location is kept clean. We even got moved up 1 floor when booking from our original booking. Beds are very comfortable. Lots of bathroom supplies for all your needs. If you need more, they will provide. We didn’t use the pool or gym, but looks very clean from what I saw. Only real problem was in our bathroom, a minor issue, didn’t warrant a complaint, but in future should be watched for. Around base if toilet could be cleaned better, and the fan looks to have been cleaned in some time. (See pictures) The view of the harbour is amazing, and you are located to pretty well anything you will need or want to do. Only other issue I had is I thought breakfast was included with our room, but found out it wasn’t. If you want breakfast with your room varify at booking. Overall I would stay here again, and recommend it to others.

Locked out!

Each key i was ever issued by them did not work for me.(nothing by them just in my bare pocket). I was locked out each time i tried to go anywhere. I was locked out 45-1hour. I am into Day2 and yes i had to change keys again. So don’t try sneeking any “hot dates” through the side doors . Not sure why, but it looks like a high employee turn over rate. All new faces. Perhaps it will be better tomorrow.

Worth a drive - destination hotel

Reviewed By JamesSPC

I checked in around five on a Saturday, and the cèilidh was already going. Over three hours the party went, with elder locals cramming tables and welcoming tourists into conversation. Great food, we got two different kinds of nachos (it was National Nacho Day, after all), steak frites, and fish n chips. Great local craft beers. Once the live music stopped, over the evening the crowd changed to a younger locals crowd, half the age of the prior set. A sight to behold, this place is popular among and good for anyone of any age. Later on, we grabbed some local wine from the on-site store and site-made choclate from the on-site chocolatier before retiring to the room, past a few youth still up around midnight playing basketball on a lit court. The view in the morning from the balcony (all rooms have them on the second floor, the first floor has walk out doors with porches) is beyond stunning. Fridge in the room, television is solely streaming (no cable), but that is not why you're there. Love this place, worth the hours drive, especially for the Saturday matinee. Also this is Nova Scotia, so we have very few restrictions right now, so most of the questions Trip Advisor asked don't apply here (you can't get into the province if you aren't vaccinated against COVID).

Tired building but lovely staff

Reviewed By nrocho688461

I think we were supposed to ask for the rooms to be made because in the four days we were there, no one came to clean or empty the garbage in either of the two rooms we booked. The staff was always very pleasant and friendly. It's just the building that's tired. Oh, and the billing process is way too complicated. There were four transactions to my card. As the reception staff was explaining to me, I could hear the other young lady on the phone having to explain it all to someone else. We weren't the only ones confused. The staff must waste a lot of time having to explain the billing procedures that the Travelodge company decided to go with. The breakfast was bagged and easy to get from the reception area. As mentioned earlier, the staff was always lovely! :)

Amazing views!

Harbour front cottages with amazing views and impeccably clean! We were in Room 4 which is a duplex but very private, quiet and with a private deck overlooking the harbour. Coffee pot, microwave, kettle, toaster and refrigerator is provided in the room. The family that owns/runs these cottages is great and they have a few food items for sale in the office. If you're arriving late it is a bit remote so try and bring something to eat. Parking is outside the cottage.
