Lo único malo es que no siempre estaban disponibles en la recepción, se nos cayó la TV por cable y no tuvimos a quien solicitar ayuda, además de tener que realizar el check out sin recibir la boleta.

Terrible Hotel
Reviewed By Angelica TOn the way to Arica we need it a place to rest for the night, sleep at this pricey poor and run down Hotel. The floor of the rooms were disgusting dirty, bare foot was a NO NO, shower full of mould. Be lining old and wear out. Old blankets, old towels, breakfast poor, grumpy staff. Never again will stay there. Will seriously not recommend. The only good thing is parking, is secure under ground.

Poor, unfriendly and expensive service
Reviewed By SereniusPersonally I do not recommend this hotel for the simple fact that it is extremely expensive for what it is, compared to the very basic service they try to provide. I went there twice in a month, each time stayed 6 nights for business purposes. I can hardly remember a smile (with one exception, a gentleman working at the reception and who was the only helpful person there). The rest was just arrogance and full attitude, answering back before listening to the client, staff was hard to communicate with and unfriendly. We have rented a meeting room as well. They only came to clean it up after insisting several times. After discussing the matter, the receptionist simply said: you need to file a written complaint - like some bureaucratic procedure. Nobody apologies for letting us stay in a dirty (but expansive) conference room, moreover it was suggested it was our fault because we did not ask earlier or we locked it overnight. As a matter of fact, I did make a written complaint on our second day and got called back days later, after we already left. The hotel ground floor was secured from the outside with planks and metals due to some protests in the town - a situation which we had to accept. Therefore, the evening access was through a side garage entrance. As we arrived at this entrance, nobody was there. Tried to ring a bell for several minutes and suddenly we realized that the cable connection was cut off. So us, the paying guests, were locked outside in the cold with nobody to open us up. We got the idea to call the reception on our mobile and at some point the night guard in charge finally arrived. As I complained that it is not appropriate to let us wait outside in the night cold of the desert, he was just being more unfriendly and angry to us, of course with no apologies at all. We received a few days later (!) the explanation that the guard was doing his tour in the hotel, therefore he could not be present to open us the door. Restaurant is average and the service is poor. Breakfast is much better than the rest of the hotel, provided the restaurant manager is there (which unfortunately was not the case last time as he got sick). Rooms, on the other hand are large and the cleaning int he rooms is indeed very good. They have good quality towels and bed sheets. I also used the dry cleaning which was very fast (it only took a few hours). Again, for the price they are charging, I do not recommend it.

Nice room but expensive and youth hostel breakfast

However sometimes you judge according to price and as we were desperate to stay in Bahia Inglesa we paid nearly £100! So much more than in other places. More than twice what we usually paid. If we had known we would have gone to stay in Caldera which is really nice and a cheap taxi ride away.. . Also the owner would not waive the 19% IVA which hoteliers can do if they do the. The room was nice and in boutique style so that was pleasing. The owner was offhand with us -probably as we were older (not much older than him !) When it came to breakfast next morning he did not explain how it was fixed or bother to get on his feet and show us. So we found an open air kitchen area and groped around and other guests told us how to locate bread,little boxes of ham and cheese and heat our own water on the gas and then wash up. Not dirty really but nowhere to sit and a bit icky. As someone who has travelled around the world when young I have no quarrel with laid back but this should be in a cheap places. At nearly £100 I expect much much more. Perhaps prices dive in low season and match what is offered.

Reviewed By andrewjohnbelmontI am only writing this review for Manuel — this poor man had to put up with my mother during check in, she was not nice to him because he could not completely understand her. If you want to visit a Spanish speaking country, you should know Spanish, or at least have a translator, so all of the confusion was her fault. Manuel was so nice to all of us in spite of her ill temper. I saw him work almost every shift during my four night stay, and he was always friendly and willing to help. He even helped me during an awkward moment when I called the desk and in broken Spanish asked for bathroom supplies — he personally delivered in less than a minute. I would come back just for him! He might not be happy to see us, but I’d be happy to see him.

Disappointing stay
Reviewed By bryanjrollinsMy first impression of Solaris was that I had booked a room in a prison. You enter and must be buzzed in from an outside gate that surrounds the property, and the neighborhood looks pretty sketchy, with high metal gated fences around many places, but that may just be Huasco. My second impression was that my room was NOT in the main hotel, though I don’t think this was clear in my reservation. I was in a building across the street, and you needed three keys to get in and out of the building. My third impression was that the inside of the building is dark, and sterile like a crypt. The room was even darker, and the window looked at the wall of the house next door, where the neighbors played (poor quality) music most of the day but luckily stopped after 10 PM. This place is quite depressing. The breakfast was okay.

Very nice stay
Reviewed By SNG56Was here on a group tour. Rooms were comfortable, clean ans spacious with good wifi. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was excellent! They make a great pisco sour and a coupon for a free one was included with our room. Pleasant staff as well.

Reviewed By Ilmo NFriendly staff and good location. No hot water in the morning, but breakfast was good. Price to quality ratio ok. Parking a motorcycle inside the gates wasn't a problem. The place was quite empty when I visited.
