The staff stole my money from my backpack
Reviewed By Javier PI arrived to this hostel due to its well location. Unfortunately, it was a terrible decision as the girl of the reception desk, refuse to give me a key for the locker ( I was sleepy, it was weird, but I did not argue), but I put my bag inside anyways. I have a little lock, which to be honest forgot to put it while I was sleeping, bc I did not sleep anything in the train, and use it only when I am not in the hostel. But just that little mistake was enough for her, to check my bag, check my emergency wallet and took the money (even leaving some money, perhaps due to her guilt). Please, safe yourself a bad experience and go somewhere else.

Reviewed By gibornyThe location is very good. Everything is new and in good condition. Service is normal for Russia. In other words, they could be more pleasant. You come in for breakfast and three people that work there just stare at you like "what do you want?"

Reviewed By Romain SCentrally located and very helpful staff. But the lavatories could have been cleaner. The rooms were spacious and clean and adequately furnished. The signalling of the hostel on the street is practically inexistent.

And the hostel was absolutely great! Location, staff, design & comfort - all excellent! :) The hostel is off of one of the main streets, but not directly on it so it was nice and quiet. The next time I will be in Ekaterinburg, I'll be staying at Moy Dom :)

Hostel has been working for three months ago . It is a cosy place with pleasant atmosphere.Stylish modern interior has elements of the style of the Ural village. The hostel is located on the Olympic embankment, in the center of the city of Yekaterinburg. There are Palace of Sports,Church on Blood in Honour of All Saints Resplendent in the Russian Land not far from the hostel.

Hostel №9 is a brand new hostel right in the heart of Yekaterinburg. When we say "in the heart" - we mean in the heart, this is the 100% central location with direct access to the Ploshchad 1905 goda (the main city square). Friendly staff is on hand 24 hours a day. You have a choice of 5 rooms for 20 persons in total. 2 rooms are shared and 3 are private.
No signage or instructions for getting in!

I have to say I'm surprised by all the 5-star reviews here, though I have to note only 1 is in English... Anyway, first the good: - excellent pre-stay communication and service - at least partially. The hostel contacted us in advance to find out our arrival time and offered us a half-night rate when we told them we were arriving at 3 am on the train. - room was nice, spacious and clean (we were 2 people but booked the triple room) - the hostel location is great - downtown and close to lots of attractions and restaurants Now, the bad: - despite the good communication on our arrival time etc the only info provided about getting to the hostel was the address. We looked it up on the map and had a good idea where we needed to go. Or so we thought. We arrived at 3 am so had to take a taxi from the railway station. The driver brought us to the exact address provided, but there were no signs for the hostel anywhere. The front of the street is only shops etc so we had no idea how to get in. Eventually we walked to the back of the building through a dodgy-looking alley/driveway. We saw a couple of dark doors back there but thought that couldn't be right... Again, no signs or any indication there was a hostel anywhere nearby. We walked around the building again and finally decided to just try pushing 9 on the door keypad - we had no phone, it was the middle of the night, what else could we do?? We were buzzed in the door and inside was a dark stairwell with crumbling steps... It looked downright dangerous. Despite our hesitation we walked up the stairs to apartment 9 and finally found the hostel. I can't understand why the hostel staff didn't provide instructions for how to get inside! - there is only ONE toilet and shower for the whole hostel, which is something like 20 beds. And the toilet and shower are in the same room, so if one is in use the other isn't accessible. There were only 4 or 5 people staying besides us and we had to wait for the bathroom several times. I can't imagine 20 people sharing one toilet! - the hot water wasn't really working during our stay. It would eventually start to get warm after running the shower for 20 minutes I would hesitate to recommend this hostel, but it would be ok for an inexpensive night or two and only if it's not busy or fully booked. Just know what to expect.
