The best available Hostels hotel to stay near Stockholm

April 28, 2023 Ying Subia

Often referred to as the Venice of the North, Stockholm never fails to wow both visitors and locals with its impressive cityscape spread over 14 different islands. While being the largest city in Scandinavia, it has successfully preserved its green core and struck the right balance between modern and traditional architecture, infused with luscious parks and forests. It's convenient to explore the central islands by foot, by bike, or as part of a boat tour; but don’t rush and do as the locals do: always save time for a fika (coffee and cake) in a local coffee shop.

Amazing place for staying while traveling

Reviewed By sweredom

Nice place to stay, it was clean, well connected to the other parts of the city, affordable. Beds were comfy, with usb charger sockets included. Traveled with 2 friends, took 4 bed room which was the same price as for 3 person room, which is nice if you are traveling with 3 friends. I think the place can get a bit pricey closer to the travel date, so my sugesstion is to always book early. Overall amazing quality for the money spent.

I booked this hostel after the hostel I had originally booked was not working out. IThe only private room available was a dorm room with 6 beds but I decided to take it. This hotel is a 10 minute walk from the Radhuset metro station. When I arrived at this hostel the manager was concerned about my loud voice (I am hearing impaired and have a high pitched voice). He told me that I could not be that loud but did accept my payment and showed me to my room. Five minutes later he told me there was a problem with the room and told me that he had talked to the manager and told me that I could not stay here. I was humiliated and not happy to have to find another place to stay. I did receive a full refund of the amount I paid. I would not book this hostel under any circumstances.

Stayed in private room. Excellent attitude from workers and cosy, unique and inspiring varied retro style inside. Lots of little features to be inspired by. A little worn obviously, just as it should be. Maybe the tiles could be taken care of a bit more in the bathrooms. Other than that, a hostel with interesting personality. Makes people happy and relaxed.

The hotel was great! They had an amazing breakfast included with the room and the location is perfect to explore all of Stockholm. Literally right on the water so there are also amazing views. Also, right in the old city so very close to many cute restaurants and shops. Short walk to Sodermalm and Ostermalm area which is also very convenient. The staff are friendly and accomodating.

Be prepared for turbulance

Reviewed By Laura Lynne T

I booked this as part of. larger trip and love staying in unique places. As far as unique goes this gets 5 stars. I booked the cockpit and was surprised to know that the entire upper level was mine. Being able to walk out on the wing of a plane is also cool. The bed was comfy as well. The reason I gave it only three stars is due to the amenities. It took 2.5 hours and an angry phone call that I had to pay for to contact reception. In the meantime I had to use my data to get communication. If a site is not going to have on site representation they should join 2022 and at least be on whatsapp or have their own app to reach someone. Another guests and I were talking about how we kept being told to " call the number" despite repeatedly stating we did not buy a specific Swedish sim card. There is also no elevator as advertised. I was lucky there was someone there to carry them up to the cockpit, but in the am the cleaning person was too busy to help. They advertise a cafe, but don't be fooled. Eat at the airport before heading there as there are only a few beverages to buy. The breakfast may have been gone by the time I went down at 9am for all that was there was some bread, jam and a few questionable cold cuts. This is a far cry from a cafe....unless they were trying to be in theme of airplane food which is minimal at best. On my way out another guest also commented that he thought it was a horrible hotel. The bus ride is efficient, and the experience unique and that is the selling point. In the end, sure stay here, but just be aware of what you get and what is on paper only.

DON’T GO HERE IF YOU’RE NOT A MIDDLE AGED MAN

Reviewed By TravellingEUtoday

First of all they told us the wrong bus route from the central station. We arrive and the lift is broken and we had to walk to the 8th floor where the steps are very narrow. Rooms too cramped and security codes basically accessible for everyone at the hostel to enter your room. There was also someone assigned to my bed and no staff around to remedy this. No staff to be seen apart from 9-11am. There are only three lockers for a 6 bed room and they’re get narrow. No socket outlets for some beds very inconvenient. Two toilets available for many people in the hostel and one was broken/out of order. Then they supposedly “fixed it” but there was still urine all over the floor and it’s a “no shoe hostel”. Kitchen smelt bad Showers are ridiculous as no where to put your items without them getting wet. Lots of middle aged men walking around in their underpants. Weird purple lighting which induced headaches WIFI IS AWFUL The only positive I can think of is the view. 0/10 wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who’s young or female
