Tahuna Pod Hostel offers high-end quality hostel accommodation in Queenstown. It's the very first Pod Hostel open in New Zealand and merges Maori heritage and traditional values into the fabric of its design.
Clean, friendly hostel with good vibes :) really good location and price for where it’s situated. Also really helpful to have car parking so central in town + a good selection of books/board games to entertain!

Welcome to Adventure Queenstown Hostel. Catering to independent travellers from around the world we offer mostly shared room accommodation and run in-house activities 5 nights a week to make it easy to meet fellow explorers from all around the world. Our beds are solid timber bunks with comfortable innerspring mattresses. Balcony spaces are the best in town and a great place to enjoy a drink in the sun. The lounge and dining areas are large for a small hostel which allows plenty of room to chill out, or you can cook up a feast in the well equipped kitchen. There is a tour desk where our friendly staff can help you plan your activities, as well as a separate storage/locker room with secure bicycle parking and ski & snowboard storage. We offer loads of free stuff and even a simple laundry service. We are a smaller hostel with a maximum capacity of just 43 people - the perfect number for keeping a family atmosphere which is still fun and vibrant. Being the most central accommodation in town, you're just a minutes' walk to everything. At night you can sleep soundly as there are no bars directly by us. Operated by a well-travelled owner we draw on experience from having collected the best ideas from hostels in dozens of different countries and putting them all in the one place amazing place!

Unique hostel with all home comforts, lodges and cottages nestled in the native rainforest. Excellent place to relax ~ restore ~ explore. Beautiful beaches, river walks, horse trekking, and kayaking close-by. Bread/brownies available for sale. FREE UNLIMITED WIFI is available in all rooms of the retreat. 3kms north of the Pancake Rocks, the sign on main road for Motel - Homestay - Backpackers indicates your turn off. Book your Intercity Bus to the Truman Track (TRT) and you'll be only meters away from Te Nikau.
Tui room was a chalet in beautiful rain forest. However we should have guessed when all windows were open on a cold autumn day it was due to a damp issue. Well worse than that - the bed was so damp it couldn"t be slept in. Bathroom had condensation running down walls with toilet paper too damp to use. This accommodation was not fit for guests. Let alone the charge of $150!! When we complained - it took 2 emails, 4 phone calls and too many excuses to get a $70 refund. The lack of sleep was not worth the $80 cost, aggravation and frustration. Having had a wonderful South Island trip - Te Nikau Retreat was memorable for exceptionally poor accommodation.

Although tiny our room was comfortable and warm. There were two lockers and a TV. Bathroom facilites were shared. The facilities were clean and noise wasn't a problem. Parking was nearby in a Wilson Parking area and was free with a voucher from reception. We had no window so I recommend if you have a vehicle get a room overlooking the parking area for security. The central location was ideal for exploring the city on foot. Regent street is at the back and has some excellent bars and eateries.

The Bealey Quarter represents our four unique hospitality offerings in the one precinct. The Bealey Quarter offers three distinct Accommodation offerings, which ensures we have the right rooms to suit your every need and budget. The Studios offers premium motel accommodation and all of the modern conveniences without the hefty price tag. These near-new facilities are ideal for short-term stays, both business and leisure. The Courtyard is the ideal place for those wanting easy outdoor access and spacious sunny rooms. These rooms are popular with families and groups who want to be close together and are further complemented with hammocks, picnic tables, a large grassy space, and BBQ area. The Lodge offers warm, lodge-style accommodation designed with a range of shared and self-contained options. Ideal for group bookings, from schools and colleges to sporting and cultural groups.
No one told me about the $100 bond they take when you check in. Too noisy, I could hear everything from the rooms next to mine and above. Had to run water for 8 minutes to get hot water in the shower and even that wasn’t hot enough. Reception hours were “7am-11pm” but I had to wait 15 minutes one morning for someone to turn up (not great when you booked a taxi and lost it because of that). Must say place was really clean, the kitchen was spacious and spotless.

Nomads Queenstown Backpackers is located in the heart of Queenstown, New Zealands popular South Island holiday city. Designed with all budget travelers in mind this purpose built backpackers hostel has a variety of room types from small and large dorms with or without ensuite to private ensuite rooms with wide screen Sky TV.All dorm rooms at Nomads Queenstown Backpackers have storage lockers and individual bedside reading lights and many of the rooms have balconies with views of Queenstowns lake or mountains
I've written an awesome review for this place once but this time it wasn't as good. Mainly because I think the room smelled like bbq because of the outside restaurants even though we had the windows etc closed. It was also super bothersome chatting or calling to turn the aircon on and off every time we needed. Guessing sometimes the phone is not manned so you have to wait 10-20 mins for your request to be met. The rest of the stay was okay, it really is just a budget place to stay but I guess for it's price it is okay :)
