Also we have a nice kitchen with all the utensils yo need to prepare the most amazing food that you can find in the main place market (just 3 blocks from the hostel). On second floor there is a special zone with hammocks, camping zone, BBQ and beer garden to share with friends and enjoy nigth activities. Traveler Hostel San Gil it´s the perfect place to relax while you are enjoying the extreme sports, hiking and nature of the place. We are located just 3 blocks from he Main Square Park, Bus Station ( to Barichara, Curíti, Villanueva), markets, restaurants and more. Come and share your experiences with us.

Reviewed By tkohl13This is a great hostel, with a fun and relaxing atmosphere. The rooftop common area was a great place to unwind at the end of the day, and the dorms were comfortable and spacious. The staff was very accomodating and friendly.

A country eco-hostel with Indian and vegetarian restaurant and a natural swimming pool. Accommodation is in the form of yurts, geodesic domes and camping. The hostel is owned and run by an Anglo-Colombian family on their small organic citrus farm with panoramic views. The environmental policy includes full recycling, solar shower, composting, eco-toilets, organic vegetable garden and mandarin orchard. Amenities include: Natural pool, Indian and vegetarian restaurant, campsite shop, roofed campfire area; converted bus with 100s of classic movies and board games, forest walks; mountain bike hire and country routes and hiking to nearby villages. We arrange tours for Rafting, paragliding, caving, downhill biking, canyoning and more! Easily accessible by bus from San Gil and Barichara, but far from any man roads.

Reviewed By O1404WCnicolascThe location is amazing. Gorgeous view of the valley. Good choice of accomodations (camping or rooms). You fall asleep peacefully with the sound of nature at night. The owners really make sure that everything goes smoothly from day one and make you feel at home. The food is delicious (Try the curry!) Their policy for recycling/sustainability really matched what I was looking for (composting toilet, naturally filtered swimming pool, reuse of plastic for construction...)

Reviewed By sadeeyorThey took me up the garden which was loveley. They criticised me drinking in the courtyard while trying ti get my act together. I thought maybe some clear space between highlands and the coast. It was comfortable acro ss the courtyard. It was a comfy bed beyond the yard. I was more drunk, but not exceptionally so. They said not another night. That was ok. I wasn;t that bad; nor were they unfair. There are other places in San Gil. It's a place, like Betty's that is you stay beyond rafting, you will not even learn how to decide how Betty & her girls are. Defy you to not be in Betty's Cafe. There is an institution about San Gil.

Nirvana hostels opens its new headquarters in San Gil land of adventure, located on the banks of the river fonce, and 10 minutes from the main square, ideal to rest in silence without getting away from the city. it has a 24-hour restaurant, a tropical bar, a giant hammock pool and access to the fonce river. You can enjoy a TV room with netflix and play station, plus an area for board games from cards to beer pong Without a doubt the best place to start an extreme adventure with new friends from all over the world

Reviewed By Alex WMy one night in Nirvana was a pretty average. Here are the positives and negatives Positives -nice staff -nice back patio (which we weren't able to use because it was raining) -it's cheap Negatives -location is about 30min walk from center of town, which means you'll probably end up taking lots of taxis -very few bathrooms shared between lots of people -rooms don't have places to lock up your bags -facilities are kind of beat up/not very charming I'd definitely recommend Sam's VIP over Nirvana if you're staying in San Gil.

Reviewed By LievalfonsoMuy mala experiencia, duré mas de 30 minutos tocando la puerta para entrar y no habia nadie en el DESK, me tuvo que abrir una mujer que trabajaba al lado en un cafe. Horas antes habia dejado mi maleta en el casillero para guardarla por recomendación del encargadao y al llegar no estaba mi maleta, nadie contestaba... dure una hora esperando a que me dieran razón de mis pertenencias, se las habian entregado a otra persona. MUY INSEGURO , no recomiendo para nada ese hostal.

Reviewed By bylrgrlEverything was perfect! Location, service, environment, hosts, amenities and cleanliness. The hostel is located right in the main square, yet the rooms are quiet. The front desk ladies are EXTREMELY friendly and attentive to all the guests. Also very safe as the entrance and exit are monitored by cameras by the front desk staff. The hostel is open and spacious and has a balcony over looking the main square. There’s a pool, sauna (all working) hot water with good shower pressure and decent Wi-Fi. Highly recommend this hostel, even if you don’t generally prefer hostels.

Reviewed By Anna TMy stay at Tinto Hostel was really nice. It was a really quiet time so I stayed some nights almost alone in the hostel which was really relaxed. The stuff is nice all the time, the 2 kitchens are great, the view from the balcony is incredible and the pool and the garden are beautiful. The only thing is that the beds are not comfortable. But Barichara is just the best place in Colombia. Do the workshops!! I did the Rakú with Jaime and tejido indígena with Nirko which was soooo beautiful.
