Reviewed By anoukvaneWe really enjoyed our stay here! Hung picked us up from and brought us to the bus both times in the middle of the night without costs. He also arranged all bus tickets for us. The place is very clean and cozy. There are (motor)bikes for rent, because the place is a bit far from the restaurants but they have a family dinner everyday (we didn't participate in it but it looked amazing!). Hung is a very nice guy and his English is good! Go here :)

I fell like i was staying at home when i was there. there are tables, hammock beside river in front of house, i lye down there and enjoy village atmosphere. Otherwise, i was swimming on the river, water is blue, i could even see my feet. House also in the center, riding bicycle to Phong Nha cave 5’ only. They have bicycle for free, and motorcycle for rent. Very clean room, good view. I had all meals there, because foods are VERY tasty. The owners are nice. Highly recommend.

Reviewed By imbewuHonestly, I was originally attracted to it by the price and the great reviews, but now I really cannot recommend Dolphin Home enough. The genuine, caring hospitality is unmatched. From the moment I set foot in Dolphin Home, I was made to feel welcome and comfortable. Hoài and her family are so kind and helpful, and I ended up staying in Dolphin Home for 2 months while I found my own permanent accommodation. Dolphin became my first home away from home, and even once I found a house to live in, I was sad to leave the comfort and friendly faces at Dolphin Home. During my time there I stayed in a private room, the dormitory, and the family room, and the rooms and beds are all clean and comfortable. There is a wonderful rooftop terrace from which you have a great view over the park and the majestic Nhật Lệ River. It's also a perfect place to watch the sunrise, and the fishermen starting off on their boats for the day. It's an ideal location for your stay in Đồng Hới, with plenty of attractions and restaurants within walking distance. There are also bicycles to be borrowed for any further exploring or visits to the beach.

Reviewed By 811donniesBamboo's house and staff were very friendly and welcoming during this coronavirus pandemic. This was one of the few places accepting foreigners so there were many people staying there. The rooms are very affordable, have comfortable beds, cold ac and Netflix! We were staying for 2 nights but ended up staying for 4 with no problems. Breakfast was included and served freshly. We enjoyed sitting in the rooftop bar overlooking the ocean. He plays some of the best music to keep you relaxed. Beer is cheap and the pizza was excellent. We ate it 2 nights in a row. We were able to get laundry done and back to us the following morning. If you are into caves, he is very knowledgeable as he was once a guide. I fell in love with his cat "Meow" and he has a cool dog named "Dan." We wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Awful experience
Reviewed By Dsus94Unfortunately me and my friend had a terrible experience here. I don’t know if things have gone downhill since COVID but we booked weeks in advance for them to reply 1 day before saying they now only had one night available and leaving most other places unavailable. We booked a family because we wanted a double bed each but then upon arrival he said that he only had a double room and we had to pay the same price. He blamed his lack of communication on that he hasn’t had many tourists book through Hostelworld which we explained wasn’t our fault. As we booked through that for 3 nights and then only could stay one it meant that he tried to get us to cancel our booking which would mean we would lose the deposit we had paid which would have been half the cost of the one night. He then got aggressive and blamed us for not saying more when we arrived. Again we said that we’d had flights delayed and a long journey and just wanted to get into our room. He then still expected us to pay the full price of the room but we refused and he then threatened to call the police and locked the gate so we couldn’t leave. We were so disappointed cos we did so much research before booking and saw lots of good reviews but our only experience was inconvenience, lack of communication, aggression and trying to sell anything possible to us. Please don’t stay here.

Reviewed By raymondk485An An Homestay is an absolute amazing place in Phong Nha. The location of the homestay in the rice fields gave us a marvellous experince. We could enjoy the true vietnamese contryside combined with the villa style comfort of a good accommodation, The rooms are very clean and good condition. Mr An are super friendly and helpful. We felt like being with friends, he was driving us to the center and store. Also, he was provided lots of activities information and arranged a tour for us to Pardise cave. An's mum are very nicest, she was prepared the dinner for us even we were arrived late and the food is really delicious. Best host we have met in Vietnam so far. Chocolate and Nam were our favorite dogs An's provide warmest service at an extremely reasonable rate. I enjoyed my interactions with and consider him as friends. I highly recommend this homestay for value, view, cleanliness and down to earth Vietnamese Hospitality.

Very New and Clean, Excellent Location, Large Clean Double Room, Good Value
Reviewed By TimeToTravelNow99Very new and clean hotel, very friendly hosts, nice large clean lobby, very good views from hotel, exceptional value (March). Have passport and visa ready at check-in. Basic free breakfast (7-9am) with choice of 2 eggs/bread, noodles, rice, banana pancake with coffee and fruit. Hotel offers travel tours at competitive prices and some basic information, cold refreshments, motorcycle rental at competitive rates; we purchased our bus tickets to Hue here. Excellent location, 1 minute walk from bus stop along town’s main street, minutes from numerous restaurants and shops. Also 1 block from Easy Tiger Hostel, where we recommend first time visitors go to receive lots of useful information about nearby attractions, including daily 1 hour info session at 9am. Can meet and group with other travellers at Easy Tiger for cheaper outings such as sharing boat to nearby Phong Nha and Tien San caves. With decent roads and minimal traffic, renting a motorcycle is great way to see Phong Nha area, the nearby national park, and several amazing caves. Large clean basic double room, shared patio with very nice 180 degree view of beautiful town, large clean bathroom, firm but comfortable king bed, hot water (shower and sink), quiet A/C and fan, good wifi, soap / shampoo / toothbrush, 1 chair, 1 night table, room service after 3 days, change towels upon request. No refrigerator, no safe, no water pot, no closet / clothes storage, no elevator/lift so many steps to higher floors, tv in room but no international channels. Additional table / bench for backpacks / suitcases would be useful. This hotel was very good for our 4 day stay as we visited several of the beautiful nearby caves and enjoyed this beautiful (and growing) town.

Cheap, clean, and friendly
Reviewed By yohnkmwWe stayed here for 4 nights while staying in Phong Nha. We had our own motorbikes so it was only 10 minutes to drive into the main part of town, but if you don’t have your own bikes the staff can call you a cab or drive you to town (for 100k VND). Pool was somewhat small but that was ok since we just used it for drinks and relaxing. For the price of only around 150k VND per night for a room, it’s hard to complain about a place like this. Staff was very friendly and even cooked us a meal one night to share. They will rent motorbikes if you need one too. Only complaint was lack of English (I knew enough Vietnamese to get around though).

Reviewed By 373callumcCan't complain at my stay here in Phong Nha. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and helped us book our transport to our next destination. The hostel also offers free bike rental which is great especially in Phong Nha where a bike ride is a days entertainment in itself!
