KASAMAR HOSTAL is a hostel, with a superior rating, which offers primarily lodging and dining service. You can also enjoy the ecotouristic and cultural activities of the Colombian Carribean coast, including hikes; aquatic sports like surfing and kitesurfing; rock climbing; cultural trips to Barranquilla; and visits to Cartagena, Santa Marta, and other Carribean sites. Is a hostel in a family home located in the neighborhood El Carmen del Muelle, the historic center of Puerto Colombia; this area is very safe for travelers. Nearby you will find the main city plaza and the church Santuario Mariano del Carmen. A few blocks away is the pier of Puerto Colombia, where you can enjoy walks, the sea, and its sunsets. KASAMAR HOSTAL is located between two coastal cities, Cartagena and Santa Marta. This makes it a strategic place worth of a visit, as much for its geography as for its historic and cultural charm; additionally the national government is investing in major development in the city.

Reviewed By melissasI7499KRThere is quite a few reasons why I am giving this place only 2 stars. I was very disturbed when I left the house - this is a subjective review. Pros: nice view, pretty house, the owners help you out when you need something, the breakfast was relatively good, the coffee was tasty, the Wifi is good enough to work (mostly), the employees are friendly. Cons: from the moment we arrived we felt that there is something weird about this place. The energy is heavy and negative. We stayed for a week. The last two days we started to understand what is wrong there - around 15 very strange people arrived. They all (including the owner) belong to Wodoo Sect, doing the weirdest rituals and ceremonies on the premises. Including the SLAUGHTER of animals in the backyard - this is where my acceptance stops. They were also drinking a lot of alcohol, smoking all kinds of things..these very strange people all seemed to be friends of the owner. They made a lot of noise (until late evening and also starting from 06:00 in the morning). Several more things which I found not okay: on the website it says that you can use the kitchen to cook your food (this is not allowed and in fact the owner sometimes locked the kitchen- which is at the same time the access to the toilets, sitting area and the water). There is also no pool and I still don’t understand where there should be any access to the beach (the website also promises that). At least no beach within 10-15 minutes walking distance. The breakfast was quite tasty, however it took very long until we got it - only around 09:00 - 09:30, even though the kitchen is open from 07:00. Same with the lunch, it was served very late and took forever to be made - 14:30pm. As vegans/vegetarians the lunch was very sad - white rice and salad. it surprises me that there are not more honest reviews about this place - I met two random couples at the beach which also had quite bad experiences at this place - I will not write about that because I only want to write about my own experience here. Overall I cannot recommend staying in this place - mainly because of the negative energy.

Comfortable and affordable
Reviewed By nbhalseyI spent three nights here and in my individual room felt very much at home. Good air, very comfortable bed. If you want a lively place with a variety of young and festive travelers, this isn't it. But if you want to sleep well, and feel like you're staying with a family, this is your spot. The woman who runs the place even put me in touch with her husband, a taxi driver, to provide me with rides to destinations all over the city.

Lugar peligroso, se forman peleas adentro y atracan
Reviewed By lunaroja9Terrible ..... yo estuve con mis amigas el sábado porque había una fiesta allí... a medianoche se formó una pelea terrible ... la dueña del lugar y sus hijos se pusieron a pelear con unos clientes, los clientes solo estaban inconformes porque les estaban cobrando demás, en vez de dialogar y tratar de resolver los dueños se pusieron muy agresivos, sacaron palos, partieron botellas y con un palo le pegaron a una de las jóvenes de la mesa!!!! violencia total... y contra la mujer!!!! toda la gente tuvo que salir corriendo y los dueños persiguiendo con palos a todo el mundo. Espero que los afectados demanden!!, la policía debería cerrar ese sitio... q horror
