We return here every year because of the beautiful property, secluded white sand beach, comfortable accommodations, and especially the warm hospitality of Serafino and his family. It is a gem of a find!

Splendid! A trip of a lifetime!
Reviewed By lisacatanzaroAs a special surprise for my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary we planned a 2 day excursion to Catanzaro which is our last name and perhaps the area our relatives were from. Due to Antonio’s excellent planning were able to book a spacious and spotless family room and arrive just in time for a delicious Calabrian lunch served with the local products from the agriturismo. The food was amazing, The wine was excellently paired and we had wonderful cheese and fruits from the property. The experience and was lovey. From the olive groves near our room there is a view of the sea, there is peace and quiet and delightful wind in the night that make you feel as if you are in a magical place. The room was rennovated and had ADA handicap compiance. Antonio also helped us arrange a local driver to the places in the sea on the south near Soverato and into the city of Catanzaro for art and history tours. This was a trip of a lifetime however we do plan to return. Sending you a big hug Anotonio and the team at Petrara.

Reviewed By PetraW59A dream in Italy come true. What a place to stay! You have to drive along a very small road with a few hairpins but when you get there….. The Agriturismo is situated in a large square manor house with a central courtyard. The room we had was on the first floor (most rooms are I guess). A big room with the bathroom (small shower) in a small tower. No airco, no fridge, but you do not miss these. The garden and outside sitting area are great. The view is to die for. This is the place where they serve on beautiful tables with glazed lava tops: a very good breakfast (choice of eggs, fruit salad, cheeses, ham etc.), morning coffees, afternoon drinks and dinner. All with a view of the countryside, villages in the distance and even a bit of a sea view. At dinner it is fairylike when the lights in the villages start to shine (and the stars as well). Dinner itself is a no-choice 4 course menu, but each course is very good, real Italian food full of flavour, delicious. And to round this off a glass of homemade liqueur (limoncello or noci, or for the more adventurous among us: pomegranate, basil or liquorice). Oh yes, they also have a nice swimming pool with really comfortable lounging chairs. We hope to stay here again!

Tenuta Mauri - Agriturismo Vota è immerso nel verde della campagna calabrese, ma dista appena 7 km dal mare. L'agriturismo è costituito da due ampie sale ristorante, una piscina di 20 metri, un parco giochi, innumerevoli spazi verdi e ampi giardini. Tutta la struttura è ricca di sorgive, uliveti, vigneti, noceti, querce, castagni, eucalipti e molteplici varietà di piante della macchia mediterranea. Tutte le camere hanno entrata indipendente, vista panoramica (mare, piscina, giardini), servizi igienici privati dotati di doccia e phon e, su richiesta aria condizionata e servizio lavanderia. Inoltre in agriturismo si accolgono gli amici a quattro zampe.

Reviewed By SHP72My partner and I stayed at Carmines farm in July 2019 and had the best time. The food was INCREDIBLE and the views are amazing. Carmine and his family went above and beyond for us and we are so very greatful. Carmine speaks great English so communicating was no problem. I would recommend renting a car.

Reviewed By Dave MHad the pleasure of staying here 20th 23rd and so glad we booked here. The owners are the friendliest and can’t do enough for you. They don’t speak English, but we had no problem with this. Rooms are typical Italian for the region, which is rural and out of the way so don’t expect Hotel type Accommodation. All you hear at night is crickets. Set in an olive farm up in the hills. There is a restaurant which serves amazing pizza and pasta dishes. Breakfast is typical continental with pastries and juices and coffee. Strongly recommend and will definitely return.

Reviewed By roberto-respighiWe had been staying in Rome for several weeks, and we needed a bit of country relaxation. And the Agriturismo Creta Rossa certainly provided a welcome respite! As noted by other reviewers, great rooms and very fresh food, some directly from their farm. The grounds and pool were very attractive. The location is central to a number of interesting sites; we particularly enjoyed Gerace. Two items that made our stay particularly enjoyable was the absolutely excellent food (recall we have been living in Rome for two months, so our "bar" is rather high) and the absolutely excellent service from the manager, Pino. He really made our 3 night stay special.

Welcoming, Idyllic and Picturesque
Reviewed By Cathy UWe knew we’d made the right choice of accommodations in the Bivongi/Stilo/Monasterace area the moment we pulled into the driveway of Villa Vittoria in Guardavalle on a beautiful early September day. The setting is idyllic - rustic stone walls dotted with morning glories, hammocks set among the seemingly endless fruit trees, a gorgeous swimming pool and outdoor shower and a warm welcome from Signora Vittoria and her son Pasquale. Signore Agnacio, Vittoria’s husband was out gathering fruits and vegetables for the evening dinner. We were welcomed with homemade lemonade and fresh figs in the expansive covered patio where we also enjoyed daily breakfast (included) served by Signora and Maria and some fantastic home cooked Calabrian dinners. We also got a warm welcome from the family dogs - Jock, Rosata and a pup who’s attached herself to this lovely family, no doubt drawn by the cooking fragrances from Signora’s kitchen. We named her Vita. It seems that Vita is not the first canine to seek out this special farm. Pasquale showed photos sent by former guests of another Calabrian dog acclimating to its adopted home in Spain! We highly recommend our rooms - The Raucaria - with a separate entrance and two spacious, immaculate bedrooms and two bathrooms - perfect for a family of four. Pasquale provided great information about local sites and directions and maintains an extensive collection of tourist guides to help plan your stay. Villa Vittoria also has an arrangement with a local beach club where we enjoyed parking, beach towels, umbrellas and chairs at a beautiful sandy beach not too far away. Beach shoes are still recommended due to rocks/pebbles on the sea floor. We met families from Austria, Germany, Holland, Russia and the farm was even the site for a reunion of family gathering from New Zealand, the US and Germany. For anyone nervous about driving on the steep, curvy roads of some of the area hilltowns, Villa Vittoria is easily reached from the coastal road - flat and mostly straight. On our final day, Pasquale gave us a tour of the Museum on the farm grounds that includes antique farm, winemaking implements (even a loom). We stayed four nights and I remain envious of the families who had booked the farm for a week or 10 day stay. There is so much to explore in the surrounding area and the farm is the perfect place to just relax in a hammock for days on end with a good book. It was just so lovely and we dream of returning.

Perfect food, nice bungalows and great staff
Reviewed By becht0ldmWe rent a bungalow for three nights as a family with three children. Everything clean, the animals on the farm were great to see for our children and the pool provides a Carribean feeling. The food is really delicious. You feel the Italian family spirit. What we also liked is the short walking distance to the train station and airport without the hotel being too noisy. A real paradise allowing lots of trips in Calabria.

Reviewed By Hilton LAqua d’friso is a tranquil rustic agroturismo with many positive features. Stefano and Maria were great hosts helping us with all our enquires. The secluded beach was perfect and when not at the beach the pool provided a refreshing swim. The chef produced wonderful food accomodating all tastes particularly pescatarians. We used Aqua d’ friso as a base to explore The surrounding areas Margaret and Hilton Australia June 2022
