Beautiful Homestay near Chikmagaluru
Reviewed By adityah2013A wonderful homestay nestled within the coffee plantations of Chikmagaluru. Extremely clean, close to mulayanagiri, bhadra forest reserve, Shringeri, Horanadru and Agumbe. The hosts Mrs. Kavitha and Mr Prabhakar are just amazing. The highlight of our stay was the food and our coffee time conversations with Kavitha Aunty and Prabhakar Uncle. 4 freshly cooked meals a day with unlimited - mind blowing coffee. :) Probably the best homestay we have been to. Look forward to our next visit soon. :)

Calm safe Getaway from Bangalore
Reviewed By RamyaRaoPA group of 6 of us along with a toddler had visited last week. There are three cottages and we booked all three of them given the safety aspect. The property is beautiful and serene. Monkeys playing around, cricket sounds, peacocks calling, and mangrove mango trees. The cottages have a good ambiance and amazing views. The food served is vegetarian and simple. The hosts are accommodating and packed us lunch since we weren't staying for lunch. ' The cleanliness wasn't up to the mark. the bathrooms were clean but there were a lot of cobwebs, cockroaches, and lizards. Given it is a farm stay, it is understandable, but the rooms should be well maintained as much as possible given hygiene is something that most travelers are wary about homestays.

We are a full functioning organic farm on the outskirts of bubbling Bangalore. Just 32 drive south from MG Road onto on Kanakpura Road, An 8 acre fully live & working farm with fruit orchards, cash crops, livestock, and rugged terrain with character. Farm animals like the cows, buffaloes, bullocks, rescued ponies, pack of loving dogs, and many winged species add spice the environment. Stay in the comfortable earth cottages and enjoy fantastic organic food... a real experience. Activities include fresh water swimming pool, snooker pool table, games, bicycles, walks and farm work participation or just chilling on the swinging hammocks.

Reviewed By ramas659Home away from home with kids. Awesome food and a clean pool with non chlorinated water are the highlights of this lovely farmstay just 45 mins drive from Bangalore. Has 3 cottages, offering a good feel of farm/forest stay. The owner is there always to assist the guests, top class service.

Peaceful homestay with lush greenary all around
Reviewed By Shravan TWell maintained rooms, helpful assistants, good food. Walk through the coffee estate in the morning is amazing. Important thing is it is very close to the town & has easy access unlike most homestays which are very remote (very important to stay close to the city in case of emergencies).

Reviewed By jerinjmathewMy wife and I had a wonderful 5-day stay at Barekal. Mr Vikram and his team were very warm and welcoming during our trip. Ashoka, was always available to meet any requests we had. The food was healthy, hearty and close to nature. We loved the delicious filter coffee and the kashayam the staff provided on cold evenings. The various payasams at the end of the meal were a treat. It was a wonderful surprise when the staff arranged a bonfire dinner for us, not once but twice during our stay. The hotel is about an hour away from Shimoga town, and about an hour and a half from Jog falls, but there are many places to visit close by as well. We were taken on a guided walk around the farm and we visited Nagara Fort, Devagange, Aghoreshwara temple in Ikkeri and several dams. Don't miss the boat ride in the Saravati backwaters. I forget the name of the person who took us on the ride, but it is a wonderful experience. Enquire at the hotel for information about this.
