Good location close to te anau town and on the main road so a good stop off place or for a longer stay, clean and nice facilities, close to the main road so you may want to request a site further from the road if possible, good playground too would be good for families.

Going to Milford Sounds

The staff at this holiday park were amazing. They gave me the number of a local dog sitter for our Milford Sound Day. They also ensured that my Kpod could be parked near my family's unit. The facilities at this holiday park were outstanding with hygiene at the top. Also great longue, kitchen, laundry and bathrooms. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

A Perfect Sport for Getting Refreshed

After spending 4 days camping without the luxury of amenities, it was time to get the body refreshed. When in cellphone coverage in Te Anau we made contact with Eglinton Valley Camp to find out their availability for a night's stay in our camper. We were warmly greeted by Dawn & Warren (Camp Managers) and then shown the facilities and told we could park up anywhere. It turns out we were the only motor campers in for that evening so had the place & amenities to ourselves. The amenities were spotless and the best thing was there was no extra charge or time limit on the showers! The kitchen is well equipped with gas hobs but with limited power, there is no microwave. The campground is in a beautiful area surrounded by native bush & birds (the robins were very inquisitive) and a great spot for exploring the region. We would definitely go back again.

If you are not a permanent resident don't stay here

Reviewed By Wendyv687

Holidaying? Don't waste your time with this place. We are touring the South Island in a mobile.home and staying at various camps for 2 nights at a time. The only good thing about this place is the hot shower which was only neat and tidy on the ladies side. The manager was a grumpy old unhelpful man. Internet! What internet? Doesn't exist. Bikes to rent? What rubbish! The water is brown even through ther filter. And sooooo many permanent residents if you are wanting to sleep past 6am forget it. Everyone leaving in mass exodus to work along a horribly loud gravel road prevented that. Only these residents get treated like anything and uss casual campers are just an inconvenience. The beach is also a far way off with a not so safe carpark to leave your mobile home and walk down to the beach. Needless to say we won't ever be heading this was again.

Riverton Holiday Park

A great family holiday park with campsites set amongst beautiful native gardens and stunning sea views. 18 powered camp sites, an on-site cariavan for hire and 2 en suite units are available. 'Grandmas kitchen' and a retro recreational room with log fire, and TV, games and a "swap a book library" are just some of the activities we have for guests. Walking distance to Rivertons township and to some fantastic swimming and surfing beaches.

We had a cabin with an ensuite and there was parking right outside for our vehicle. Although small the unit was perfect for us. The small kitchen is OK for breakfast and there is a large shared kitchen closeby in the huge hall which has an open fire, toys for the kids and plenty of inside room for rainy days. Veronica was very welcoming and helpful.

Worst place ever

Reviewed By erwandeguen

Worst place ever!! I visited NZ 6 years ago and I can't forget how unwelcoming and rude was the lady!! They gave me camping accomodation for my van but very inconvenient to park. After check in I decided to go for a visit in the town and while I was unparking with a lot of difficulties due to the configuration of the camping accomodation and I accidently "touched" a pole. I got out of the van to check for any damages and no nothing was to declare so I left for my visit. When I got back they changed me of camping accommodation and charged me 100$ claiming that the pole was damaged!! I tried to explain first that there were no damages so I didn't understanf how they could charge me and anyway it was very difficult to unpark from this accomodation and they should have known. She answered I had to learn how to drive. I visited maybe 40 countries over the past years and I had never been treated this way!!! This event almost ruined my stay in NZ and I'm still thinking of it 6 years later!! And when I see the LONG list of very bad comments especially on the rudness and dishonesty of the lady... even if she denies everything we can't suspect that so much people are lying in their comments...

Central City Camping Park

Quiet well-maintained park easy 800m walk into the city. Powered and unpowered sites. Quality bedroom units with bedding, TV, heater etc, 2 with ensuites and 2 without bedding for the more budget conscious travellers. High pressure showers, very well equipped kitchen-dining-lounge area, laundry, free Wifi voucher. Three things our guests regularly comment are how much they enjoy being able to park-up and stroll into the city, the very high standard of cleanliness and how very comfortable and relaxed they feel staying with us. We really are en route to everywhere! Just metres from the Southern Scenic Route - east to the Catlins & west to Fiordland, State Highway 1 - north to Dunedin & and south to Bluff and the Stewart Island ferry terminal, and just a few blocks from the city centre. Come check us out. We look forward to welcoming you!

Very happy with our overnight stay here. Hosts friendly and helpful. Was great to have the hot showers and do our washing here after a few days without both. The beautiful weather helped. The kids loved interacting with other guests and finally being able to watch a bit of NBA
