Beautiful setting and unique experience

Reviewed By RMTexplore

My time at the lodge was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable! The food the lodge prepares is all sourced from the Delta and is DELICIOUS! My guide, Eva, was knowledgable, friendly, and accommodating. The setting on the Delta at the campamento is incredibly beautiful and serene. At night, you can see all of the stars while you enjoy dinner and drinks. Everyone at the lodge is friendly, helpful, and eager to share the beauty of the delta with their visitors. The cabins are charming and comfortable. The tours are fantastic with excellent wildlife viewing and tours of the local indigenous communities. I highly recommend a trip here!!!

Boral Camp

Great location, good service

Reviewed By JarekMk

I was in the camp in October 2009 and still remember this as a great adventure. The camp is located near river and surrounded by jungle. There are small cottages with bathroom - equipped with toilet and shower (rainwater, rather cold). The access to cottages and separate "restaurant" is via comfortable platforms. All the services were on highest possible lever - considering how remote the area is. My stay in the camp was combined with several trips to the jungle - typically by boat, fishing piranha, swimming in the river, watching crocodiles in the night and so on ... This was great experience.

Campamento Wey Tepuy

Disappointed

Reviewed By Mauricio C

Wey Tepuy is a very simple low cost hostel and you shouldn't have higher expectations. The rooms are ok and the bathrooms could be better if they did some regular maintenance which it doesn't to be the policy here. There is no warm water or AC or wifi. The food is also quite the level as the accommodations and you'll get coffee only for breakfast. My biggest complaint is regarding the service. If you need help you won't find anyone in the whole building. I was forced to step in the kitchen and ask for help since one of our bathrooms was useless, without door and water. You'll meet your guide at the airport if you have booked your hostel and expeditions in advance. Your guide is usually part of the hostel staffand he'll organice almost everything for you, from serving your meals to taking you to the falls. The guide doesn't live in the hostel so if you need something before or after this activities you won't find him. The expedition to the falls are amazing! But a recommendation is to be clear with your guid regarding start time. The guided seems to be freelance and they invest most of their time and effort fishing tourists to fill the boats. That's why the schedule for the expeditions are set to 10:00 am, after the first flight has landed at 09:00 o'clock. That means that your site experience will start when the Guide fills the boat. If you like to have a much better stay for a very small price difference choose Tepuy Lodge instead!

10. Uruyen

Valle de Uruyen, Canaima National Park Venezuela
Uruyen

Uruyen Camp where accommodation here is in big Indian type homes made with clay and earth walls (a WIPA). This gives a very nice and cool inside temperature. This camp has 8 double rooms with private bathroom and the beds have mosquito nets, plus 10 rooms with shared bathroom outside. Large open area for social activities with a restaurant and a nice living room. Uruyen Camp is the original base Jimmy Angel, and his name the big fish of the mythical story of Yurwan (The old name is derived This camp in the Pemon language). This camp is recommended with a minimum stay three nights + it is a good base and heading for other destinations in the Valley Karamata (Kavak, Kamadak + Kamarata) and a couple of longer trips that provide overland and river here. Uruyén is also the last stop before entering the only route available to hike to the top of Auyantepui (an expedition of 7 days).
