Cozy b&b with solid breakfast and clean rooms

Reviewed By juhlditte

Enjoyed our stay at Hullam Villa, which offers clean rooms, an outdoor pool and a solid breakfast buffet. You can park on the premises but the spots are extremely small and you have to reverse out which is a big minus. Also be aware that this is not a wellness retreat, no yoga lessons are offered (despite marketing photos of it) and overall it is a nice place but nothing extraordinary.

Very pleasant stay

Reviewed By DrSpaceBoy

During our tour through Hungary we had booked a night at the Pergola, in an apartment room (anteroom, kitchen/dining, separate toilet, bathroom/shower w/ another toilet, and 2 sleeping rooms) facing the pedestrian area on one side, and the courtyard on the other. We arrived late afternoon, and outside it was already completely dark - the hotel doesnt really feature too many signs, and you have to know that the entrance to the reception is next to their main restaurant (an Italian style one) very close to the beginning of the pedestrian area itself. The apartment itself was clean, big enough, they had organised the baby crib, and everything was ready for us to settle in. Room for improvement here: fix the lock on the main entrance door of the apartment, and supply more than 2 towels for a family of 3. The apartment was very clean and neat, and we had enough space of course. Noise level is fine, though you can hear the main road outside as the hotel is situated close to the beginning of the old town style pedestrian area, which borders on one of the main roads there. Breakfast was interesting and certainly has room for improvement (it was Sunday, so maybe things are different during weekdays) - breakfast can be had in a separate room of the restaurant, but you can get there through a small passage in the courtyard of the main building. Enough tables for maybe 10-12 families, and tables are large. The buffet is not very plentiful, however, but maybe it is made according to the number of rooms occupied, and not all guests seem to be taking up the breakfast on offer. There is coffee, tea, some bread/rolls/sandwiches, jam, sausages, cheese - but not too much both in terms of amount and variety. Eggs - you can prepare omelette as well - yourself - if nobody is there to serve it to you (not a bad thing, but when the guy acting as both waiter and receptionist came in again he was surprised that we had done it ourselves, just like the guests before us). There is also an assortment of juices, which is actually guite good. Everybody was very kind and polite, and the hotel can be recommended without hesitation. The minor issues can be ignored if you are not too picky and dont expect 5* metropolitan ambiente in a smaller provincial city (less than 70k pop.) - for this kind of city we'd consider this hotel ideal and authentic.

BEST HOTEL WITH A GYM AND SAUNAS

Reviewed By seemahenna

Wellamarine has been a blessing for me during the Covid 19 Pandemia. This hotel is just at the lake side. The distance from the main train station is less than one kilometer. Internet wifi speed is excellent. There is a wide variety of restaurants around the hotel but I love the ambience, hygiene and the taste from the restaurant which is located at the lake side. The deer soup, pizzas or the ice creams are not only delicious but reasonably priced too. The gym is well equipped. I enjoyed the Gym and the saunas a lot. They have very well maintained small pools, with jacuzzi in and outdoors, nice, cosy places for relaxing and 4 kinds of different saunas to choose from. There are nice places for sunbathing, to enjoy reading, for meals with a view of the lake. The professional staff was very kind and polite. Special thanks to Dorena, Eva and Anna.

One of the best restaurants in the country

Reviewed By _kost455

You would not think this is where you will find one of the best restaurants in the country. We have been here many times already and it never disappoints. Mostly Hungarian cuisine prepared in a very tasteful and decorative manner. Both the building and the yard have a great atmosphere, the interior reflects old Hungarian village arcitecrure (authentic, does not seem fake at all). Waiters are attentive. Prices are affordable. Portions are generous. The experience is always super pleasant.

Absolutely wonderful

Ilona is a wonderful host and this B&B shows this. The rooms are beautifully clean and simple and the terrace and restaurant are a really lovely place for dinner or breakfast. We almost ate in the centre of town but are really pleased we changed our mind and ate here. Really excellent Hungarian dishes, wines and atmosphere. I'm not sure I'll ever be back in Siófok, but if I am it'll be to just go here for dinner and a night's rest.

End of Holiday...

Reviewed By Vasile V

This is my second stay at the hotel. The first one went ok, just a bit noisy for my taste, but the conditions were top of the line. Now on my second stay however.... it's a whole other story. So, here we are, me and my partner, after a drive of 5 hours, sweaty and smelly... We arrive at the hotel, we do our check in and go up into the room. There we unpack and half and hour later we wanna take each a shower... But then surprise... The hot water is not working... I went down to the reception, and asked politely what's going on. The lady, on a most respectful tone told me that this problem will be solved in about 2hours and to please forgive them for this inconvenience... I was understanding, and I know that they do not cut off the hot water on purpose. While we were waiting, we thought, hey, it would be great to watch something on the laptop. We tried connecting to the Wi-Fi... But what do you know, we were outside the Wi-Fi range... We had signal only on the balcony... I signaled this to the nice lady from the reception, she just shrugged her shoulders at me and told me that there is nothing she can do...But we managed to watch something on the balcony, we made it a little picnic. So here we are at 11 PM, no hot water still... No WiFi in the room... So we made a quick cold shower and figured we will take a long one in the morning... The next day we wake up, it's around 7 AM ... I go into the shower, with full confidence that the situation was solved... And SURPRISE... The water was colder than last night... Obviously this made me angry and as such I first tried calling the reception... No answer... I went downstairs and the mister, this time, was outside enjoying his coffee and smoking... I said once again that there is no hot water, he went and "fixed it" and told me that the situation will be solved in 10-15 mins... We gave it 30 mins, just to be on the safe side... The water was still cold... I was furious at this point... It has been over 12 hours since we signaled the issue and still no hot water... Upon my last trip downstairs, because no one bothers to answer the phone from reception... I was greyed by an older man, who told that in max 30 mins the situation will be fix and we will have hot water... Now it's almost 10 AM, we have to leave because we have booked this room for 1 night only... And still no hot water So, bottom line. If everything works and nothing breaks down, the hotel is quite nice, with a great view, a bit noisy since it's surrounded by Bars. God forbid something happens because they take forever to fix the problem, and if you are on tight schedule and just wanted a night in a warm bed and a hot shower... Then be prepared for the worst and I mean the worst intervention and help that you can receive. This is the last time that we will be coming to this hotel.

Where rudeness ruins elegance ? Never ever again! And I highly recommend to avoid it, if you don't like to be harrassed, especially during holidays. Due to the owner's absolute ignoramus, she started to talk to us with an unaccapteble tone, calling us repeatedly and threaten with calling the police. That was so abszurd.

Despite the negative comments we had before we got there, we didn’t feel/see so many problems, but OK, some of them were like that as mentioned, specially the cleaning - we guess they do it once or maximum twice per season! At least the carpet should have had a vacuum cleaning as they know that young children will get there too! Also the bath & the windows need polishing asap! The breakfast was also weak & “thought-provoking”...
