Beautiful property
Reviewed By stork90The location on the busy road is a drawback, but the road noise really lessened as it got darker. The pool with a waterfall and slide is a neat touch, and so refreshing on a hot afternoon. The food is only ok, but the strawberry daiquiris were delicious! We were in Guacamaya up the hill and over the restaurant. It was a big, clean room with a good ceiling fan. The bugs eat you alive outside, so either stay in your room with the fan running, or put on lots of bug cream. The staff are friendly, but the front desk doesn't have the most up to date information about the park. We were told it opened at 0700, but it's not until 0800 that the gates are opened. They didn't know if credit cards are taken (THEY ARE), and we were worried that we didn't have enough COP, and there are no ATMs nearby (the closest is Santa Marta over 30 minutes away). All in all, a nice stay close to Tayrona. They do have free, secure parking just across the street.

Reviewed By PhilsgonemissingSo stayed here for 2 nights whilst in Santa Marta. On entering it had a friendly receptionist and a nice foyer, the room wasn't so good though. Hinges on the door had dropped so it scraped the ground loudly, the light was just a light bulb in the wall. No hot water, toilet seat was broken, toilet door scrapped again. Only one double plug socket in the room, no bedside lamp. Really disappointed, breakfast was no better, cold coffee and eggs, ate breakfast out the next morning... There is a pool only 3 people at a time though and the reception staff are lovely and friendly, but honestly better value elsewhere. I've given it 2 stars only because of the reception staff

Reviewed By Brett ADidn't really have any trouble finding the place, other than the entrance. We were really impressed with how nice the lobby was and the overall quality of the hotel. Looked either new, or at the very least semi-recently renovated. Each room has it's own little name, though I'm not sure there's any special design to differentiate them from each other. The room was very nice, but also very small. To be there for a couple days is fine, but if you had like 1 week's worth of clothing and 2 people, you'd be a little hard pressed to keep the place from being a total mess. The AC worked really well, but unfortunately the in room mini-fridge didn't work and the iPod dock/radio thing didn't even have a plug in, it seemed to just be there for show. Those two things didn't bother me, but at least in my room, 201, which I believe was right above the lobby, the wifi didn't work. Connected sometimes, but wasn't really usable if it did, then the connection would drop. All that being said, again the property was really nice and didn't cost an arm and a leg. There was also a restaurant on the 6th floor, which I'm not sure really makes sense. I feel like they could've had 2-3 more rooms instead of an unproductive restaurant. But I didn't try the food, maybe it's great! Just seemed unnecessary. 5th floor features a nice little sundeck and covered open air area with tables and a bit of a bar. This area was a very good idea. A pool might have been preferable but the hotel is on a really small footprint. The rooftop deck has 2 cold water jacuzzi's, first time I've ever seen that, but in the climate of Santa Marta, probably a good idea. Hotel is only about 5 minutes walking from the beach and even at night we weren't at all worried about security walking back to the hotel. I'm not sure I'll be back in Santa Marta any time soon but I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Perla Suite again.

Reviewed By Armando AIf looking for a good value place to stay with clean rooms and central location for a moderate price this is the place. It is a small basic hotel but the room was spotless and comfortable. The reception staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace floor is also good. The location is in the city center and walking distance to places with restaurants and night life like Parque de los Novios zone. Also walking distance to the bus terminal which could take you to the Tayrona Park.

This is a guest house that offer a great accomodotion for a fair value.The house is cozy, the decoration and the fact that is only 4 bedrooms so make the atmosphere persoanlized.The price is fair, it is well located closed to supermarket and it is very secured.The house is fresh, high ceiling, and nice bathrooms.Cleanliness is a plus, staff is bilignual, always ready to assit you on any thing that guests need help.
One night stay
Reviewed By Grace TWe stayed here for one night following our lost city trek and before we left to Bogota the next morning. The lady who was the sole staff member there didn't speak any English (my fault for not having better Spanish), but we managed some communication with the help of google translate. She organised a taxi to the airport, which never showed up (apparently broke down). When the next one she ordered for us turned up, we were running half an hour late and because of the limited communication between us it was difficult to demonstrate urgency. Again, this isn't really her fault. Just an unfortunate series of events that led to us nearly missing the first of four flights. The breakfast we got was delicious however! The room was ok with two twin beds and AC. The shower was hot but had very poor pressure. Access to the room was up a very narrow staircase which was rather difficult to haul a bag up. Close to the city by foot.
