The best available Bed and Breakfast Inns to stay near Punta Arenas

May 6, 2023 Nobuko Falco

Overlooking the Strait of Magellan, this isolated city in southern Patagonia bustles with windswept trekkers en route to glacier-filled Torres del Paine National Park or an Antarctic cruise. Before transiting, take note of the mansion-lined main square, Plaza Muñoz Gamero; the City Cemetery, with its elaborate tombs; and the Sara Braun Palace and Braun Menendez Residence, a preserved slice of the city's wealthy pioneer past. Daily flights connect the city with Santiago and Ushuaia.

Good place to stay

Reviewed By Vinit S

I traveled solo to Punta Arenas and stayed at this hotel for 1 night. The taxi dropped me right outside the hotel. The area seemed pretty calm. In fact whole of punta arenas was like a small town with not a lot of hustle. Checked in to the hotel, they ask for passport and tourist card (that you received after entering Chile). I am vegan. The front desk person agreed to give me vegan friendly breakfast togo as I had to leave for a tour early morning next day. So that was great. The front desk person did not agree to give me late checkout as he was unsure of when the next guest to the room were arriving next day. He said it would be fine if I left my luggage in the laundry room before going for tour and pick it up after coming back. Overall the stay was pretty good. I had forgotten my toothpaste and the hotel did not provide one. So there is a nice store nearby the hotel where you can buy stuff like this with credit/card or cash. Cozy hostel with extremely helpful staff

Reviewed By rdasgu

We had a very good experience staying in this hostel. Our initial plan was to stay only one night and then move on. However, we prolonged our stay stepwise to 6 nights because our luggage hadn't arrived and because of the uncertain situation of the coronavirus crisis. The staff was very helpful in finding solutions every time we had to prolong our stay (organizing an extra bed etc.). Although they were very busy themselves preparing for the exceptional situation they took very good care of us.

Residencial Tres Hermanos

basic accommodation; helpful owner; good breakfast

When we arrived at the hostel, our first impression wasn’t good at all. The door was answered by what appeared to be the daughter of the owner. We weren’t greeted orwelcomedat all. She simply muttered few words towards our direktion and pointed with her head that we should come in. Inside we had to find our room in the upper floor by ourslelves and no key or anything were given to us. Later I went downstairs to ask, if we get key or towels and if there will be breakfast in the morning. ThereI finally met the owner Pamela and things began to turn to the better. Pamela is a nice, but firm person. She welcomed us properly, explained everything to us and gave us everything needed. Our room (number 5) was a 4–bed dorm, which we rented as privat room for us. The rooms furnishing is very basic, like you would expect at a hostel. They are equipped with a small flatscreen TV, which we didn’t use and surprisingly solid wifi. There is only one free power outlet to charge your staff, which I find way to little for a 4-bed room. However, the room as well as the communal space are clean and the beds are comfy. Showered can be from 6am to 11pm and is restricted to 10 minutes max per shower. Breakfast was a welcomed surprise and super tasty. All in all I recommend the accomodation, althought I found 40 US$ per night a bit expensive comparing to the 35 US$ I payed at a B&B in Santiago de Chile.

Worst accomodation in 2 months in chile

We were told a price on arrival which we took to be for the room, this was a bit more than anywhere else we had stayed but we agreed. We were told to pay later. On paying the price doubled (per person not per room). Some of the confusion was possibly due to my poor Spanish, but she made a point of speaking very quickly and at great length. Anywhere else my Spanish had been more than adiquite. When I gave up and went to pay she put it through in US$ rather than pesos possibly just to add more confusion. Rooms were clean but small, breakfast was small well below average.

SMALL WORLD! ) I wish we had had another day to explore this area -- next time I will plan accordingly !!! thank you Hostal Ventisqueros for a FABULOUS STAY!

We only stayed here one night after a late flight but it would have been a lovely base for a longer stay. Quiet and peaceful site close to the airport. The owner picked us up late and dropped us off early and was really friendly and told us lots of interesting information about the area. Nice cosy rooms and a simply but tasty breakfast. Good communication by what’s app too to arrange transfers.
