Reviewed By Genevieve HCasa loma is in a really beautiful setting and I really enjoyed my time here! The staff were super lovely and it really feels peaceful while still being fairly near to town. Pros - the views from the bar area and the upper platform -having a bit of separation from town, while not being as cut off as fincas etc in the area - staff were really friendly and helpful - i enjoyed my single hut and found it private and comfy Cons - the choices on the menu looked amazing, but I was generally disappointed by the actual taste; I found the falafel to be super dry in particular -bathroom situation: there were only 2 near the solo huts, which were often taken, and it was a hike to get to the other ones. Also a couple bathrooms near the bar area would be super welcome, when people I was hanging out with had to have a bathroom break it took so much time to get up there and back -the hike up is pretty challenging mid day with a backpack, not something they can really change but if you’re not pretty fit this could definitely be an issue

Great informative tour
Reviewed By KDSanMy husband, teen boys and I did the coffee/cocoa tour. This was a great and informative experience. Be aware there’s quite a bit of climbing involved but they give you walking sticks. The tour walked us through the different steps of the sowing, harvest and packaging process. We were able to sample coffee and cocoa and did a coffee mask at the end of the tour, all included in the price.

Sweet Harmony Hotel Boutique by Xarm Hotels is the first boutique hotel in Minca, a small coffee town in the most beautiful foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, 700 meters above the sea where organic coffee and cocoa are grown and hundreds of endemic birds. Minca was declared a "Reserve of Man and the Biosphere" by UNESCO. The megadeversity of this jungle place allows the guest to enjoy more than 300 species of birds, rivers, natural waterfalls and one of the largest heliconia plantations in the world. The hotel is set on 2 hectares of land next to the river. It has 8 rooms located in a house with balconies and views of the jungle landscape, it has 4 cabins located on the foot of the river and a bubble suite that allows you to sleep watching the stars. The hotel has access to the river, cocktail service, concierge service, tours to the areas of greatest interest, massage service and Wi-Fi in common areas.

Reviewed By FrenchTraveller001Awful so-called boutique hotel without any service nor comfort. The pictures displayed are misleading and don't match reality whatsoever. When checked in, tempeturature in our rooms was over 35°C and there was no air conditioning -only fans. The safe boxed didn't work, bottled water was not provided, water pressure war poor, there were hideous cheap plastic seats all around the hotel as well as huge plastic bins in front of reception. Breakfast was a disaster: we needed to wait 20 minutes to get coffee heated in a microwave oven, eggs were overcooked and food was minimal without fruits -very different from the pictures shown. Security was non-existent as the didn't lock the entrance door and staff had gone away when we came back from dinner at 8:00 pm. Last and not least, rooms at $120 a night were extremely small with a balcony overlooking a corrugated iron shed.

The road is blocked to cars or large vehicles due to prosper walking to the swimming hole. but it is possible to get a motorcycle to drop you here from Minca

Basic, cheap and clean with some noise issues
Reviewed By DeeverSimple and friendly family-run hotelito just next to the yellow bridge in the center of Minca. Staff was very welcoming and helpful, they provided a lot of information for free and with no side gain such as money from tour operators ("You can take the moto or just walk there, it's up to you."). The garden and the yard is very well kept, with a local parrot, and it's pleasant to chill in. Room was very basic, not very big, but clean. Bed was surprisingly comfy and clean as well. There's no hot water in the shower and the bathroom is simple, but functional. The biggest issue with our room was that we've heard a lot of roosters (probably from the neighbours) and they started making noise around 4am. Use good earplugs. Breakfast itself was basic as well at first, but improved on the last day for some reason.

Perfect place to stay!
Reviewed By luciek200We had a PERFECT stay at this marvelous hostel. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The terasse is enjoyable and quiet, with hamocs, sofas, as well as a nice view on the forest. You directly feel like being at home. The place is relaxing and tidy. Rooms are great and clean. Everything was perfect. We highly recommend that place!

Reviewed By DI561We didn’t stay at the Hostal Montana but we stayed right up the street and met this wonderful family. The owner’s grandson David took us down the hill on his motor bike ($5000 COP/$1.25 USD) and gave us a great restaurant recommendation. We liked him so much we arranged for him to pick us up too! He speaks very good English which is very rare in this area. If you’re staying here or nearby I highly recommend stopping to meet him and get his recommendations! He also runs a sunrise tour to the top of the mountain, you’re literally in the clouds! Great family, I can only imagine their hospitality staying at their Hostal. Thanks David, it was truly a pleasure to have met you!
