Located about 25 miles from the mainland and accessible via air or ferry, Venezuela's mountainous Margarita Island provides Caribbean-style beaches and access to windsurfing, golf, horseback riding and scuba with a laid-back South American vibe. It's comprised of two islands connected in the middle by the mangrove-filled lagoon of La Restinga National Park. Most development falls on the isle's eastern side around busy Porlamar, the capital La Asunción and colonial Pampatar, founded in 1535.

What a great discovery this great venue we have enjoyed. One of the most beautiful hotel rooms view in the island, with so much care taken in what design and comfort relates. I look forward to spending a whole week trip at Aria Pampatar, to disconnect from daily routine and recharge batteries.

I went there in my honey moon and the only bad thing was leaving. So mane things to say about what Pilar and Neils have built. Excelent rooms, amazing 5 stars food and a warm service for a very low price. La Guardia`s faunas is the richest in the island and Casa mejillon´s trips with the fishermens finished to made our trip magical

I admit I didn't have terribly high hopes for this place judging by the photos I saw online. In truth, it is a very pleasant and well-run posada. The rooms are simple but clean and well air-conditioned. The pool area is lovely with great tiling and nice lounge chairs -- opportunities for both sunbathing and chilling in the shade. We travelled as 2 families with 3 kids ages 5-7 and they absolutely loved the pool and the bridge (though it does get slippery when wet). The food was again simple but satisfying. Highlight: the slightly spicy aji (chili)-infused mojitos. YUM! Make sure to get one...or two...or three! Playa el Agua is about a ten minute walk down a hot sunny road; it's possible to take a cab and a good idea if you have lots of toys/inflatables/towels/cooler. On the beach you can easily rent an umbrella and chairs for the day, and have vendors come to you frequently offering food, drinks, jewelry, foot massages, etc. The beach is a bit wavy, but the water is clear and sand is fine and nearly white. If the posada could get its hands on a few bikes (and locks) to lend to guests, that would be GREAT for getting to/from beach! All in all we were super happy with our stay. Thanks Juan Ignacio and Salvador! We wish we could still be there!

The posada is located very close to some great beaches, its not too far from the city (porlamar) and it comes with a great venezuelan breakfast with freshly pressed juice each day. The posada itself is tranquil and relaxing and the atmosphere there is just lovely thanks to the staff.

Located on a quiet private road in the middle of nature, just a 200 meter walk from the action on the beach. Stylish and tranquil guestrooms, a fresh tropical breakfast, beautiful ambiance, small scale and personal service....welcome to Rancho Delfín.

Sotavento Beach, is the ideal place to enjoy a real beach holiday experience together with good taste and comfort, retreat from the madding crowd and close to the beach. With its mix of rustic and modern finishes Sotavento Beach gives you the opportunity to enjoy the facilities and the excellent beach experience that brings the famous Playa el Agua. Additionally we are only minutes from the shopping and dining centers offering Margarita Island.
Patrica who looks after the property is great. She went to great lengths to ensure we had what we needed, were safe when walking home at night and were set up well to enjoy the island! The rooms are simple, but spacious and lovely. The common area has tables, a lovely patio, pool and access to a shared kitchen. It's a short walk to the beach (five min), and there is a restaurant and store just around the corner. We were travelling at a quiet time, due in part to the season and in part to the political situation in Venezuela presently. The added care in helping to make arrangements for us was really appreciated. I'd happily stay here again if in Isla Margarita.

The perfect place to relax and run away from the city. A beautiful old style house with a peaceful atmosphere. Very comfortable rooms and couches to lay down with a good book. Or perfect, to take a writing project where in every break you can just run to the beach and have The Great Splash in quiet waters. Each room with big bathrooms. All decorated with really good taste. On top of that, a couple of hosts that pamper you with delicious food, beach sunshade, and its commodities. A little pool all surrounded with tropical plants and flowers. Rocio and Pepone will provide and enjoy just making you happy. They are wonderful cooks that serve breakfast and dinner. The posada is close to amazing beaches good restaurants for lunch in case you want to explore. Perfect hideaway for solo travelers specially ladies, you'll feel at home. I had my three days treated like a queen.
