The best available Bed and Breakfast Inns to stay near Malaysia

May 3, 2023 Brain Ambrose

Malaysia is a beautifully complex vacation destination, a land where ancient rainforests give way to multicultural city life. Capital city Kuala Lumpur is visually defined by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, while in charming Melaka the vibe is more quaint and historical. Many of the country’s national parks offer opportunities for fantastic whitewater rafting, and the exclusive Sipadan dive site (off the east coast of Borneo) is among the best in the world.

Good hotel and good location

This hotel is located in front of Cenang Mall and behind the plaza is the access to the beach. Very convenience. Easy to find food and to go shopping and also many water activities are available. We stayed at Seaview room with balcony. You can hear the sound of the wave from the balcony itself. Worth the money.

One of the worst. Don't trust the pictures!!!

I cannot believe the high reviews for this hotel. Worst hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The pictures I saw were nowhere near the actual room we stayed in. The triple room was extremely small to the point you have to put suitcases on the bed in order to walk in the room. 68 countries traveled and I've stayed in a variety of hotels/hostels/B&Bs ranging from 1-star to 5-star and I've never seen a smaller room than the one I stayed in here. The AC was also broken and kept turning off so we couldn’t sleep due to the heat. The toiletries provided were cheap. Refrigerator wasn’t cold either. Would not recommend. There are many hotels near KL / NU Sentral, book with others instead.

We were given a room that was not ready, the sheets were messed up and rubbish was everywhere. The bathroom was a mess. The replacement room had a clogged sink, broken air conditioner and a faulty phone. The manager was not on site and staff were quite rude. Breakfast was way below average, and parking was just impossible. Worst experience, never coming back!

Newly renovated, door uses card key, rain shower 4. Very helpful housekeeping staff 5. Provides drinking water, shampoo & soap. Cons 1. Sheets and towels are stained. Staff says they are clean but stains can't be washed. Pillows have hair cream smell. 2. Toothbrushes and toilet paper not provided. Had to ask for it from housekeeping. 3. No windows in Triple room, although website stated City View in all room descriptions. 4. Noisy walkway, soundproof is low.

Worst hotel experience in recent memory

There were so many problems with my 5-night stay I don't know where to begin. They are best summarised by 2 main points- 1) Poor cleanliness of the general areas, but especially of the bedroom. There were stains on all the pillow cases and duvet cover, all of which did not looked or smelled like they were freshly laundered. There were long strands of hair on the bed and under the duvet (I have very short hair, hence not mine). All of the above makes me suspect they don't change the sheets between guests. My room was only refreshed once, on the third day. In-room safe was broken which meant I had to haul all my valuables out with me everyday. 2) The staff were apathetic and could not care less. 4 of the 5 nights, there was loud noise into the early hours of the morning (combination of someone watching videos/listening to music and people talking loudly) from the reception area and rooftop which reverberates through the 2 internal lightwell, which in turn reverberates through most of the rooms. I had to yell at them to keep it down on 2 nights (which did not really help!). The worst part is, the culprits were probably staff members hanging out with their mates.

Xscape Tambun

Xscape Tambun is located at Sunway City Ipoh, where it takes about 1 minutes driving to The Lost World of Tambun Water Themed Park and around 12-15 minutes to Ipoh Town. Situated between hills, Xscape Tambun is a great tranquil place for soul and mind relaxing, also to stay up-close to nature. There are activities available as well, which is limestone hill climbing, cave adventure and flying fox. Xscape Tambun, definitely a best place for truly "escape" from city noise and chaos.

A weekend getaway

Reviewed By vonderfull

Pros: 1. Surrounded by caves and birds chipping, this hotel gives a sense of tranquility and escapes from the city noise, yet it is only 10-15mins distance to ipoh city where u can easily access to any food. 2. Rooms are limited so there is not crowded, we enjoy the privacy and the silentness all day long. They play some zen music through public speaker also Rooms for improvement: 1. They provided bicycle but many of them are not well maintained. 2. They provided free breakfast - we stayed 2 nights, first day we had nasi ayam kunyit (spicy chicken rice), it is tasty but quite heavy to eat that early. luckily we able to have western breakfast on second day. i think they should provide options for us ;) oh another thing is, they will knock the door to inform "breakfast is here" at 8am, so do expect this free alarm clock also Overall, it is still recommend to come here for a short getaway.

Reason given is because lion dance event and keep all customers waiting for here more than an hour when all are tiring and exhausting after long journey from KL to Ipoh
