Bad night sleep
Reviewed By MartaPastorI am sorry to have to put this review as the gentleman who was at the reception when we got there was a lovely man but, we did not have a great experience at all. The only good thing about the place for us was the private parking. Room was really humid, was shown 2 rooms on arrival, had the pick the less humid one, mattress too soft for us, air con on top of the wardrobe and it did not seem to be working, we were sweating the whole night. Because the hotel has a great location in the middle of Izamal square you could hear every single noise. Lots of light coming through window. We were supposed to be there for 2 nights but ended up only staying for one. We booked trough a website and when we got there were charged a different price, was told that they do not go by the prices on the web bit their one. I do not recommend the place.

Very good budget option
Reviewed By SerZnamProbably the best place I have accomodation during my Yucatan vacation (I mainly used budget options). For M$350 you get clean spatious room with a/c, soft bed, private bathroom, good wi-fi and even access to a small swimming pool. Really good place!

Closed but couldn't be bothered to tell us
Reviewed By ItcanbedoneWe booked 2 nights through booking.com. We arrived by bus from Merida, walked 15 minutes from the bus station, only to find the door locked. We rang, no answer, rang again and then sat on the doorstep for 30 minutes. Then a guy arrived in a car and said they had closed due to Covid. He took us to another inferior hotel who had all the details of our reservation. I took it up with Booking.com and they have registered a complaint. Booking confirmed that they had bookings yesterday and had bookings all set for next week so only this weekend have they closed without any redress. We had only been messaging each other a few days ago so I really do get the feeling that we have been bumped. Make your own mind up as to whether you might want to stay here.

This hotel is a disgrace
Reviewed By AjcavThe way this hotel treated us is a DISGRACE! It happened today as I write this review. We are a family with two 4 years old children. We had booked one night from February 26-27, which was charged to us by the Hotels.com booking site. During the check in, the manager tells us that she has not been paid and asks us for payment, which we refuse by showing her our account statement with the amount debited. And there, amazement, she refuses us access to our room! Without hesitation, if we don't want to pay, we have to leave with our two 4-years-old children!! It was 5 pm.... and we had to find a hotel room! There was no question of paying twice for this hotel! We had never experienced this before and yet we travel a lot. The least of things would have been to accept us and then see with the booking site to be paid. Especially since on our side, we had been debited... If you don't want to live the same misadventure, don't book the Hotel Macanche in Izamal. I'm still angry as I write this review... I can't believe we got kicked out of a hotel we paid for! This is simply UNACCEPTABLE and INEXCUSABLE.

Breakfast was very basic, but we knew that by forehand and it was still ok. It would be nice if the staff knew some basic English, so you could ask some questions.

Reviewed By cmercedesvThe hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the main square. Staff is friendly and helpful. The room has AC and also a ceiling fan. The rooms are big and comfortable. The pool and the quiet environment are the best. They don’t offer breakfast but hey! You will find several places around so don’t worry :)
