TUSCULUM means, "cosy abode", i.e. "favourite place to be" which has a special meaning for us. The challenge for us was to create many little aspects to bring art and life together as one. For our guest this means a feeling of comfort and cultural taste. This goes far beyond the usual idea of "coolness of designer lodgings." The only thing average about our hotel is the price. Even far from home our guest feels right at home. We have renovated the exterior of our house but still there's more to see on the inside than out. Please, come in - no need to push. Enjoy our ART-Hotel surrounded by peaceful downtown Marburg.
Wonderful place with excelent people
Reviewed By Oksana GI had a single room named after Kandinsky. Room is very spacious and clean with comfortable table, not saying that the design is fantastic. Though I chose the room with shared shower, it was also very comfortable, since there are few rooms on each floor and each floor has its own facilities. The location is also great, just near the old city. Bus stop is within 2-5 minutes; 15 minutes by bus from the train station. Staff is absolutely great and very helpful. I left my phone in the hotel, and they were so nice to send it to me. Thank you, Roland and Holger once again!

Nice stay
Reviewed By Adela BWe stayed for one night. Very cosy room. Stayed in a dubbleroom That was nice and cool. We had a balcony and nice view over the countryside. The hotel has a restaurant that served good sized portions. Very good food. The hotel even has a sauna and tanningbeds but we didn't try them.

Reviewed By 576jeroenhNice Hotel room. A bit old fashioned, but beds are good. Very friendly staff, but the AZUBI's re clumsy. They still have a lot to learn. Do not use your customers as guinea pigs. Breakfast is not bad at all. Food style is like stepping 40 years back in time ;-) nice area though

Superbly renovated gem
Reviewed By DemersWe were attending an event at the nearby Schloss Romrod and were referred to Villa Raab as they were fully booked. Judging by the similarity in marketing materials and branding, they are owned by the same people. At the time of booking, the hotel was still being renovated, and it had only been finished a few weeks when we checked in. We had a small double which was well appointed and stylish - the beds were particularly comfortable, and the toiletries in the bathroom were full size and good quality. Breakfast was a little chaotic - or maybe that was just us! It was a busy morning, and maybe everyone was just trying to find their groove - in such a new hotel, this is not surprising and the staff were super helpful, bringing more items on request. Would highly recommend the hotel - I understand the renovation programme took 5 years and cost 12 million. So lovely to see what was clearly an old building in a sorry state being brought back to life, and no doubt providing employment for the town. Keep up the good work, we hope to be back again soon.

Reviewed By thrundbWe spent one night at the hotel on our way home. So nice to come to this hotel and being welcomed by a very friendly woman. Incredibly nice rom. Clean and fresh. Good breakfast in the garden. Easy access from the Autobahn with gas station nearby. A great place to rest on your way or to spend a weekend with someone special.

We had a double room, which was very clean and had a huge bathroom. This is a place to relax, so no internet. Just enjoy the nice area and go for a hike. Breakfast is included and prices in the restaurant are okay. So nothing to complain about.

Fab stay, lovely friendly, family run - peace and quiet and a beautiful garden!
Reviewed By Mark HWhat an amazing place to stay - we were there for a long weekend with out two teenagers - all amenities packed into a compact space - but spotless, bright new and modern, set in a beautiful meadow type garden. Don't be surprised trying to find it - it's very residential and in a large back garden! Easy to self cater - we did - fridge not massive and wet room - take care if a lot are showering after one another as it drains v slowly! Family run and staff couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming - even with us arriving late at night in the pouring rain! If you don't have an EC Bank card - they don't take Credit Cards so have enough Cash to pay on dept. Nearby Vulcan Baths were great and beautiful old centre to Herbstein. We used it as a base to go south and north whilst we were covering this section of the Fairy Tale Trail and it was perfect. Would highly recommend - a lovely stay.
