Great value
Reviewed By CDNJNCBasic, but clean, quiet, and very good staff. Excellent value for what you pay. I would not hesitate to recommend. Good location as well - about a block up from the main strip. Close enough that it's a very short walk to everything, but not nearly as noisey as the hotels along the street. Staff speaks English quite well if that is important.

Luna’s House Hostel is a fun hostel situated about 5 mins walk from the main strip in Catba town. This makes it a perfect oasis in a very bustling beach town.

Reviewed By peteredoddLuna's has it all - very inexpensive private rooms, very clean and quiet, a rooftop deck, a ground floor bar and EXCELLENT restaurant (breakfast included). Electric kettle in the rooms, hot showers with great water pressure, strong wifi, and best of all, an AMAZING, kind staff who ensure you have everything you need, from comforts to meals to tours to transport (with hostel pickup). Location is perfect, a short walk to the waterfront but on an eclectic/quaint/quiet street with coffee shops and restaurants and markets. Cannon Fort (now open, definitely) road is around the corner for awesome sunsets (40-50,000 entry). Rent a scooter for 100-150,000 dong/day - fuel up at the gas station not the old woman with the PETROL sign :-) and hit the National Park (ticket to one cave gets you into all of the park sites), hike Gnu Lam Loop - amazing views. Other hotels advertise bfast and coffee and bar and restaurant, but as of May 2022 you will still find most of these amenities not yet available (covid) - so be sure to ask before you book, even if it says it online. No such worries at Luna's, they have it all. Enjoy Cat Ba!

Reviewed By RealMVJThis owner of this place was so friendly and helpful during our stay. He booked our buses, allowed us to rent motorbikes and provided a great atmosphere at all times. The rooms are also huge and location is perfect. It's quiet so look elsewhere if you want to get drunk!

Reviewed By anniesM9429DQThis hostel is awesome. We had the best time - the staff are so lovely. Especially Alex Lee - he really made the trip special for us. Particularly when I left my bag in the hostel room after we left and he got on his motorbike to try and catch the bus up to give it back to me. He then sent it to the hostel we were staying in next. He was so kind and helpful. The hostel is very clean and has an awesome rooftop bar and games room. They helped us plan our boat trip to halong bay as well. 10/10 all round. Thank you to Alex and the team!

Lovely hotel
Reviewed By Nicola GLoved our stay at this hotel. Bedrooms clean and simple. Fresh towels daily. Breakfast sets you up for the day. The manager sorted out trips, travel, taxis and motor bike hire. Excellent service. Stayed 3 nights here on our adventure round Vietnam. Cat Ba is a very beautiful island.

Reviewed By Maya RVery kind and friendly staff. Had a foot massage and pedicure, and a drink on the way out. Staff chatted and helped out. I had a really bad sunburn and they let me borrow ointment for it and gave me ice. Staff chatted but it felt like we were just part of the community they have there.

The beds are comfy enough, and the rooms are very clean with fantastic bathrooms. This hotel is a 2 minute walk down into the centre. Phuong Dong Hotel is great value for money! We would definitely stay here again

The room was fairly basic but comfortable - had tv, ac and WiFi. We did not have any issues with cleanliness as other reviews have indicated - everything was clean and tidy.
