Really nice place, just some noises..

Reviewed By Gianluv84

Please consider that 5 is the best Place 4 (really beautiful and next to the ski structure) Service 4 (professional) Peacefulness 3 (rude guests, some noises) Breakfast 3 Bedroom 5 (bed was confortable and shower wonderful) Villa Brioschi is really a nice place, an old ville reniewed but still old fashioned, we liked it a lot. We had a good welcone, breakfast was simple but good, also the room is wide and comfortable. The only issue is that the walls are quite thin, you can hear a lot of noises if your room is next to the stairs and due to some rude guests we woke up in the middle of the night and early in the morning again... so the structure is fine, just avoid the bedroom near the stairs :)

Rude Manager HATED every moment of my stay there

Reviewed By NasCee

She made my trip an absolute living hell! She was rude, aggressive and dominating. The hotel is lovely - and so is the man who is either her father or husband - but the woman in the Swiss costume and her chef in the kitchen need a lesson in etiquette and plain old fashioned manners. The worst service of my life!

Never go to this hotel again and explain why. The staff is nice, the room is small and dark (forget about reading the book, because it is very dimly lit), so clean and cleaned daily. Eating disaster. Breakfast the same thing every day and that is ham, cheese, hard-boiled eggs, one kind of bread, butter, yogurt, some chips, a croissant. They do not have hot water containers, so everyone has to order tea or coffee, which takes a long time. Plus, there's only one tea, black. When I asked about fruit, it is probably a luxury to which the Czech clientele is probably not entitled. The German would definitely not come here. After a few days, the repair will get down your throat. Dinner is pointless from 7.30 pm !! I don't understand why so late. What's more, it all lasts that we left around 9 pm to 9.15 pm daily before they gradually served us. I really don't understand why I should have dinner for the night before going to bed. Why can't it be needed from 6 pm? Otherwise great skiing, we liked it and will definitely return here, just not to this hotel anymore.

Comfortable hotel right next to ski lifts

Reviewed By 954MarkG

This hotel was a great base for our ski holiday being right next to both the nursery slopes and the gondola. The room was fine - comfortable bed and good bathroom although slightly older deco. Good views of the mountains. Breakfast buffet was really good - fresh croissant, panetonne, cereals but coffee was only OK. There was a hopper of fresh beans on the top but they didn't go down and and there was no grinding sound.... Evening meal was good after a days skiing. A good salad bar, a pasta course, meat main and then a pudding. We were on a fixed menu but it was fine, filling, but not particularly memorable, but this is a good value hotel so recommended.

There is better around

Reviewed By Brett M

Our room was your usual run down crappy room that they charge heaps for in the ski season and should be fixed up in the off season. There isn't a room fridge so we had to get some ice across the road as they didn't have any an put it in the bathroom sink to keep some drinks cold. It had a big crack and hole in the sink that then flodden the floor. Come on do some maintenance on the place. The towels in the bathroom were like sandpaper and you got a great exfoliate whilst drying yourself. The breakfast was well not much. Nothing hot and cold coffee out of the push button machine. The managers were quite pleasant. All the reviews no doubt are based on a cheap place during the ski season but there is much better around. Its no more than a backpackers sleepover.

B&B Penak

Located in the village of Aprica, in the region of Lombardy in Northern Italy, our newly reconstructed bed & breakfast is just steps away from the pistes and right in the centre of town. The house, which was constructed in 1961, has been completely refurbished. It is run by the fourth generation of the Ricetti family who were commercial pioneers in Aprica, trading since 1908.

Staff are good! But security terrible!

Reviewed By Jacob H

I stayed at this hotel for just over a week and found a number of flaws in my room! We had a room of four and there was just one plug socket. The bathroom was ok but the shower was small and flooded the bathroom. The room light was dirty collecting cobwebs as it had not been cleaned. The room was not secure also as we found a way you can access every room in the hotel and the bathroom window had no way of locking and easy access. They stated on another website a balcony in every room but not in our room! I did love aprica it was a beautiful village/town? And would go again! The staff were lovely and the food was great a shame about the room! Would suggest GB ski school especially for beginners if you are English!

Perfect!

Reviewed By TheButterflyEffect75

There are three appartments in this small B&B, run by a super-helpful lady (who speaks only some basic English). Why I loved this place, apart from the owner's attitude? All rooms are finished in wood and you can feel a wonderful smell of resin in the air, which made my sleep more than excellent. There is a kitchen with all necessary amenities , so you can prepare your own food there, as breakfasts are basic (cookies, yoghurts and coffee). Price was hard to beat... Do not expect luxuries and you will be happy there!

Amazing Staff and Food

Reviewed By janeshowler

Visited in Feb half term with a school ski trip. On arrival we were welcomed warmly and dispersed the large groups to their rooms efficiently. Rooms are a good size, comfortable and clean. The majority of bathrooms, if not all, have been refurbished and are modern, clean and have great hot showers. We were full board and every meal was delicious and plentiful. In reality there was too much food but it was too nice to turn down. The village of Aprica is very pretty and the skiing great. Hotel Urri is close to the slopes and if you don't want to walk the 10 minutes in your ski boots then there are free ski buses every 15 minutes from outside the hotel. There is a comfortable bar and outdoor patio area to enjoy a drink after a day on the slopes with very reasonable price (€2.50 for a large tumbler of red wine!!). The one thing that sets this hotel above many I've stayed at, and as a business traveller, there have been many, are the staff. There wasn't anything which was too much trouble. If you asked for something to be done then this was done with genuine warmth and hospitality. We had to alter mealtimes to fit around the après ski programme and this was without a hitch, superb. Unfortunately, I had a ski accident which resulted in me being in a cast. The staff were superb. All my meals were brought to my room by Romeo and regular pots of tea and fruit. Sergio the owner found me some crutches as the hospital did not provide. Frederica visited and checked on me daily and arranged for my room to be extended by a day as I was awaiting repatriation home. They helped with my luggage and getting me to the taxi and all in all made me feel part of the family at a time when I was in pain. Their customer service is quite honestly the best I've ever known and I would recommend that if you are looking for good standard mid range accommodation then you will be very impressed with this hotel. I hope to return one day to visit the Lakes as I didn't get there in the end. Thank you to all the staff, will never forget your hospitality.
