Lovely stay

Reviewed By Mary A

Stayed for a friends wedding. Lovely hotel very comfortable. Stayed on for two extra nights. Used the swimming pool but no drier for the swimming costumes. Had to carry wet gear in our cases back to Dublin where we were staying for two further nights. There was Another Wedding on the 2nd night of our stay. Unfortunately our room was on the first floor just above the outside “smokers” area - really noisy until about 1am. Breakfast was great. Staff very attentive. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again

Excellent Experience

I booked a room and asked for a quite room with easy access as had hospital appointment. They put us in a extremely quite comfortable clean room with easy access, we could not have asked for more. The receptionist are very friendly, polite and accommodating. We ate in the lounge bar and only wanted something small and light had the Black Pudding starter and a Creme Bruleé and it was superb. The staff in the bar was extremely professional and friendly. Breakfast the next morning was served pipping hot and delicious again the staff excellent. Would 100% recommend this hotel and great to see staff that still shows the good honest Welcoming that a lot of hotel lack these days. Well done to all in The Farnham Arms

Very disappointing

Reviewed By ToadstoolTales

Stayed here for the last couple of nights and while we had a beautiful suite in the old house, the overall experience was disappointing. We had a spa appointment which required you to walk to the spa in your robe and slippers. However the robes were too small despite being a size XL. We rang housekeeping and the front desk to request a larger size 3 times the first night and no one answered. We rang again in the morning and asked if there was a larger size and we were told yes there was and the bellhop brought us the exact same size robes. I had to ring reception again to ask is there larger than an XL and was told yes someone will be up shortly…they brought two more of the exact same robes!! I was furious at this stage as we now had 6 XL robes in our room. We had to walk to the spa with a towel in front of us to keep some modesty. This was humiliating and embarrassing and falls short of a 4 star hotel. No guest should have to even request this, there should be a small size and a larger size available in every room on arrival. But the lack of communication in what we asked for was a disgrace and left us with a bad taste in our mouths. Despite this we both had a beautiful facial which we would highly recommend. The staff were very friendly but the spa itself could do with a lot of tlc. The laconium and salt grotto rooms both had a bad smell in them, there was no incense or anything around which was strange so we avoided these. The pool was beautiful but we had to come back as there were groups reserving the chairs around it with their robes and towels while they were in the pool and this was never monitored despite the signs disallowing it. Far too many relaxation rooms when the space could have been utilised for so much more. We also couldn’t believe that we had to get water in cheap cone cups that kept leaking water everywhere. We made the best of our time here but we will not be returning.

As lovely as you can imagine the Irish countryside to be

Reviewed By 399curtk

I have been fortunate enough to have travelled significantly all over the world. This is as nice a property as I have even been in, from a peace of mind perspective. An old stone home, fastidiously restored, with exceptional bedding and shower, and a breakfast that fills you for the day. Helen, your host, is an exceptionally hospitable woman, and she makes you feel welcome, from the moment you take tea in the old stone parlor, by the fireplace, to the attention to detail in every aspect of your stay. truly, it felt like staying with a family member you really enjoyed.
