Shoreline Park

Beautiful views of the Burrard Inlet, nesting blue herons in the spring, spawning coho and chum in the fall. If you are in love with nature, from CityHall head west through the trails crossing the tracks to Shoreline Parks. Trails around park are both paved, with Shoreline Trail a 3km trail of dirt trail and small bridges. You will pass by the blue herons nesting high in the birch trees or fishing the streams. Salmon swim up stream in Noons Creek to spawn, floating back down to feed herons and seagulls in October. There are 20-25 Blue Herons nests in the spring that one can hear from the distance or view quietly underneath so as not to disturb them. Watch for black bears feeding on berries in the fall, but do not get closer than 100 metres. If you make noise by talking while you’re walking they will disperse quickly but should you surprise one, walk backwards slowly and don’t turn and run. They do not like contact with humans and will avoid it unless a sow with cubs in the spring. If so lower your head and move back slowly. This year, we also had a rare visit from Orcas feeding in the inlet, a remarkable sight to see.

Yellow Dog Brewing Co.

Yellow Dog Brewing is a family-run brewery focused on producing high quality locally crafted beer for everyone to enjoy. In the summer of 2014, Mike and Melinda Coghill opened up Port Moody’s very first craft brewery to bring great beer and a family atmosphere to the craft beer world and our little part of Vancouver. Embraced by the community, Yellow Dog has grown into one of BC largest breweries. Liam Murphy heads our brewing team and with a focus on high quality and innovative beers. The singular focus on the quality of beer has led to many awards and a strong following for our core offerings. We are a functioning brewery with an on-site tasting room and patio. Come in and enjoy any one of our latest concoctions and have a peak into our attached brewery to see what is going on today. Our tasting room staff can answer any of your questions about our beer or beer in general. We love our dogs, our community and of course, great beer.

Yellow Dog was the first brewery in Port Moody I've ever visited, and since then, it grew into a very well-recognized brand. I think they did an outstanding job establishing their presence across the Lower Mainland's liquor stores early in their history, thus, gaining good exposure. But that success is definitely backed up by the very well-crafted brews they offer. I'd take their Play Dead IPA and Squirrel Chaser HPA any day. Simply outstanding. They also have very cool collabs with other breweries, so guest taps are something to look out for as well. Great people, great beer, great place.
