Not a good Hotel
Reviewed By mariaclarao2017The hotel was very far away from de beach and the installations weren’t very good, the food wasn’t good, the pool was ugly and some rooms doesn’t have ventilation and windows and you can’t manage the air-conditioner like you want because you don’t have the remote control.

The worst night of my life
Reviewed By Catalina MI booked this hotel based on the comments below and I am so glad we booked it just for 1 night before going to Providencia. We arrived about 10:30 pm and they had a party in the social area which is really close to the rooms. The lady mentioned they will finish the party at 11 pm (it did not finish at that time). The room that we got was right on the main road, the aircon was not working properly so the room was really hot, you also can hear everything that's happening on the streets, rubbish truck at 2 am, the party down stairs, people coming after partying at 5 am and finally they were doing some construction that started at 7 am and it felt like the people where inside the room screaming. In addition, the lady at the reception told us wi-fi was for 5 days and cost $20.000 COP, we needed it so I asked for the password and would pay that price: she said the page was down and she could only give it to me the next day (the day that we were leaving). For $300.000 per night I expect something better than this. The place is rundown and not very inviting. I don't recommend staying here.

It has spacious rooms with an amazing view to the ocean and it has its own private pool that is cleaned daily. I would recommend you stay in it when you visit Alexandria.

Lovely little diving resort hotel in a peaceful part of the island
Reviewed By FunkyMarshmallowSunset Hotel is located in the southwest of the island, there are few places nearby so it will certainly guarantee you a really relaxing and peaceful location to base yourself while in San Andres. Our room was basic but super clean and had nearly everything we needed (only a bedside lamp was missed) unfortunately our room smelt considerable musty on arrival which initially made me feel we'd made a mistake in booking, but after leaving the door/window open for a few hours, it cleared for the remainder of our stay so just a consideration for the owners to air the rooms prior to guest arrival to avoid this. The bathroom felt like it was ready for a proper refit, the shower screen was sticky and looks a bit dated. Hot water is available if you are lucky and want to shower mid-afternoon before the divers return. Breakfast was by far the best we had in the whole of Colombia with a choice of four really good options, just a shame we missed our last morning breakfast as we had to leave at 8am for the airport which is the time they start serving. There are no beaches on the west side of the island, which makes this great for snorkelling, however getting into the sea is near on impossible on this side as there are sharp coral rocks but Sunset Hotel has a huge ladder which they drop down over the rocks into the water so perfect if you want to experience the crystal clear bright blue waters and beautiful fish. We hired a moped via the hotel which was well organised and reasonably priced, we feel this or other transport (buggy) would be essential if you want to go out late in the evening otherwise taxi's home could be expensive, that said, the bus will stop outside the hotel but return buses do not run much after 7.30/8pm The hotel does serve food all day and offers a good choice of meals, the prices for food, beer and wine are really competitive so we did not feel as though we were being treated as a captive audience or being ripped off, something someone else had commented on in a review. The swimming pool is a welcome relief from the heat of the sun, it is immaculate and constantly being checked and cleaned if any leaves drop in. The sunbeds are a nice touch but disappointed there were no hammocks, as seen in the photos.

Reviewed By Y3707QEangelcI went through RCI to visit this hotel. After paying several exchange fees to RCI and UVC, I was required to pay for all inclusive. My wife and daughter showed up two days late. I had to pay all inclusive even for days they did not stay at the hotel. Read the small prints in your reservation and be aware of this scam. Hotel is okay, however beach is in the mangrove. Hotel tries to clean, but it is a lost battle. Nobody really goes to the beach. You have to take a boat provided by the hotel to go to Aquaria which is a nice place, however it is always very crowded. Staff at the hotel are fantastic. They would go the extra mile to help guests. Beverages are watered down. Hotel breakfast is pre-cooked and served cold. Quality of dessert and food is poor. There are plenty of good restaurants in the island. You are better off staying in a hotel centric to the main town and use tours to go to the nice beaches. Food is relatively affordable in Town and excellent quality. Using RCI was a disadvantage. I could have got the hotel and pay half the price if I have done it directly with the hotel. I feel I have wasted my money by being an RCI member. It is worthless.

Good facilities and very helpful staff
Reviewed By KascroftonWe arrived very early in the morning and were aware our room would not be ready. We were greeted and offered breakfast and they advised they would do their best to get our room ready as quickly as possible. They did indeed and it was not long before were shown to our room. The room was large with a balcony and all the services you would expect. Staff were super helpful and gave a lot advice and help during our stay including organising trips and onward travel arrangements for us and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was good with a good choice and different fruit juices each day. Grounds were kept very clan and tidy including the lovely swimming pool area where we spent a lot of time. A great choice if you are visiting the island in our view.

Beautiful Hotel, Exceptional Staff
Reviewed By Alexander1969I went there last year to celebrate my girfriend's birthday. They trated us extremely well, taaking care of every whim and request my girfriend requested. Our room had a living room and sleeping quarters on the first floor, right infront of the hallway leading to the pool. As with all all inclusive hotels, the food was amazing. You can easily overeat since the food is so well prepared and delicious. this hotel, as part of the Decameron chain allows you to go to any of the other 6 hotels and enjoy their facilities. The beach in front of the Isleño, for example has the best beach in the island, so while we enjoyed the water and the hot sun, we got towels and drinks at will since we were staying at one of their properties. Nice touch. In fact, since we were there to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday, the Maryland's restaurant manager had the bakery at the Isleño bake her a huge birthday cake to celebrate. All part of the all inclusive package. Can't make that stuff up. She was on cloud nine thanks to the fabulous service of the hotel staff. Definitely have to do this again.
