Excellent wellness hotel with superb service and price-performance
Reviewed By martinbQ9221RTThe hotel is located in the Salzburg area. One hour drive from the German Border, close to Salzburg and 10 minutes to the skiing area Obertauern. The hotel provides a shuttle to bring you to the ski lifts. The hotel exists out of an older and a newer building. I would recommend to book a room in the newer part but the old part is also fine. The rooms are well equipped and clean. The service at the reception desk and restaurants are superb. Knowledgeable, dedicated and very friendly. Breakfast, diner and the afternoon food is very good. The hotel delivers what it promises. The wellness are is very good. Lots a sauna and bathing possibilities. The only downside, there are still people running around with mobile phones in the sauna area. There are also people smoking in the sauna area. This does in no way fit to the philosophy and style of the hotel but in all I can strongly recommend the hotel.

Our traditional 3* inn is located at the foot of the Radstädter Tauern. With the free ski shuttle (stop is right outside the hotel) or via the well-maintained main road, you are within quick, convenient reach of the winter sports El Dorado of Obertauern, while the ski resorts of Skiwelt amadé are also just a stone's throw away. The Hotel zur Post has been a popular refreshment stop for travelers for centuries and has been run by us, the Kohlmayr family, for generations. The atmosphere in our 800-year-old vaulted rooms allows today's guests to still savor the style of the "old" inn. All of the rooms have been completel renovated in recent years, though always with an eye to maintaining the historical substance of the building.

Reviewed By ashevcWe stay in one of self-catering apartments in the annex next to main building during our ski vacation. (+) Favorable location: 20min to railway station, free ski bus connection to Obertauern ski area (bus stop in front of the house). In-house ski-room with heated boots rack. Table tennis room. Shared washing machine in the basement. Free car parking. Daily fresh bread rolls for breakfast can be picked up in the hotel. Breakfast, dinner and evening entertainment can be additionally booked at the hotel. Free access to sauna in the main building. Free WiFi. The rooms are pretty basic but clean and quiet. Kitchen equipment is enough to cook pasta and fried eggs. Lovely hotel owners, attending personal, familiar ambience. (-) Water boiler: hot water was not enough to take shower for three persons... Little number of sockets (everyone has multiple electric devises: mobiles, tablets, laptops, etc) . Aging equipment. No food store in the village.

Reviewed By katharina105Waren mit Freunden Abendessen. Sensationelles Essen. Sehr aufmerksames und freundliches Personal. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Tolles Ambiente, sehr witzig Sprüche auf der Wand beim Eingangsbereich und auf der Terrasse. Sehr zu empfehlen. Kommen gerne wieder.

Reviewed By pavillxVyborne misto, v dosahu asi 15km nekolik stredisek Ski Amade. Soucasti ubytovani byla i sauna, velmi pekna a cista. Moznost suseni lyzaku na elektrickem zebriku. Vyborny pomer cena/vykon. Na statku jsou kravy,kachny a dalsi domaci zvirata - nase deti to velmi ocenily.Hostitle byli velmi mili a sympaticti, meli jsme svoje soukromi. Velmi dobre se zde i parkuje. Asi 4km jizdy jsou dva supermarkety - Billa A Hoffer. Radi doporucujeme pro dalsi zajemce.

Just perfect!
Reviewed By Guest1980_27This has been our second time in this nice hotel, right between Radstadt and Untertauern. Location: The hotel is located on a small hill right next to Talstraße, which leads directly to Obertauern. You can reach many different skiregions within a 20-30 minute drive (for example Flachau, Flachauwinkl/Zauchensee, Planai). The busstop for the bus heading to Obertauern (our ski region of choice) is located 50m from the hotel. The ride is free of charge. Rooms: We came here with a big group, so I caught a glimpse of several rooms and appartments. All rooms are furnished with an impeccable sense of detail, the appartments also include a small, but fully furnished kitchen (with dishwasher!). Food: We had breakfast, which is served as a buffet. The variety is very good, starting with all sorts of coffee (usual, Latte Macchiato, Cappucino etc) and tea, different cereal, cheese, sausages and all kinds of bread and rolls. It was great to start our days like that. Wellness: The wellness area includes a sauna, steam bath, an infrared cabin (which we especially enjoyed after skiing) and an outdoor jacuzzi. Afterwards one could relax in a lounger or on a heated stone couch (which, suprisingly, is very relaxing) and eat an apple (which they provide alongside water). Hosts: The owners are one of the nicest people we ever met! They look after their guests and try to fulfill every extra wish! They even joined us for a big ski tour to show us new pistes (which was a lot of fun!). Their love for detail is amazing (my favourite example is the air refresher in the ski and shoe room) and they really care a lot for the well being of their guests. Definitky a must go-and we will be back for sure!
