Good hotel restaurant
Reviewed By Jiri1I had some problems to find the place when driving by GPS, but once I was there, everything was ok. I got very good last minute price for single and room with wifi was better than expected. What I liked was hotel restaurant. It wasn´t expensive and they had very good offer. All I tasted was excellent. Parking in the garden was secure (I guess).

A short visit
Reviewed By Thomas BOn our return from a trip in Germany we wanted to stop and rest for a night before continuing to our Home in Italy. We found this Hotel by chance and found it very interesting. It just re-opened after a renovation and new management (ownership) The town of Heiligenberg is on top of a mountain overlooking the Lake Constance. It has a large castle prominently placed on the edge of the mountain. The Castle is privately owned but has visiting hours to tour part of the building. When we arrived we found a well appointed, newly renovated small hotel with the most friendly staff I have had met in many parts of Europe. Our rooms was spacious and well appointed. We decided to eat in the restaurant of the hotel and the food was typical local and very excellent. Everything fresh prepared and delicious. After the dinner I decided to go into the kitchen to thank the chef, only to find that the owner himself was preparing the food. Breakfast the next morning was sufficient and typically a German Breakfast. So don't expect an American of British breakfast. But it was very good. Overall, I highly recommend and we definitely will return as soon as possible.

Very German, very local - excellent food + service!
Reviewed By Marathon2006Heiligenberg in itself is a very lovely town - with a beatiful castle and great views over the lower lands and towards Lake Constance. Gasthof Hosbein offers excellent local cuisine at very reasonable places. Look out for their monthly (?) "Schlachtplatte" - when they serve fresh pork products local style! The place (for lunch) is then usually full of locals!

Confused and difficult
Reviewed By SkogsgurraWe arrived rather late - around 20.00 - a Saturday evening. And were told that there was nothing to eat, so we shouldn't stay there. At least not if we wanted to eat in the restaurant. We explained carefully that some bread and cheese and something to drink would be quite OK and that we could it in our room. That made things even worse and we nearly gave up. Then a young man turned up and took over. He promised to make us a few sandwiches and then it got confused again. Being elderly, we are used to twin beds. There were no twin beds, but this young man was prepared to "Umbauen" - just for us. We inspected the room and the rebuild was easy enough. I kicked one of the beds a few centimeters away from the other and there you were! Twin beds. The sandwiches and a nice beer were delivered and everything was OK. So, we cannot understand why all this discussion was necessary at all.

Reviewed By Alan HNice Hotel very friendly Manager. He met use in the carpark and allowed us to park on a solid floor parking area which was great for the bikes. The main Car Park was gravel. Whilst the Hotel needs a little TLC it was comfortable and clean. The evening meal was very nice. Best brush up on your German as no english menus and they did not speak to much English.

Wir kamen am 30 August an und wurden herzlich empfangen die Vermieter sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit das Haus ist wunderschön wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt wir kommen nächstes Jahr wieder wir waren insgesamt 6 Nächte da Ganz viele Grüße an Familie Sommer und Wernicke von Tanja und Rico Hannig mit Kevin, Jessica, Marco und Samira
