Brilliant location and very helpful staff
Reviewed By PMJ997Spent a weekend in the hotel in early September with my wife, who has stayed there previously. The hotel is quite small (maybe 20 rooms), across the road from the river Elbe, very clean, comfortable with excellent high speed wifi. We ate in the restaurant for the three nights, enjoyed the food and cold beer, and were thoroughly entertained watching all the activity on the river with different types of barges passing by every few minutes. Staff were all very helpful and personable, and I had a very interesting conversation with the owner about the history and geography of the region. We had some long walks along the river, all most enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend the hotel. We will be back!

Reviewed By Gina LWe had one double and one single room. Both had balconies - the single room had access to the balcony through the bathroom. The hotel was very comfortable and clean, although parts were showing their age a bit, mainly the balcony. The double room was comfortably large, the bed was new and firm, the pillows were downy. The large windows looked onto the deserted railway line and lots of trees. It was very pleasant. The bathroom was huge, with twin basins, and an effective shower. The hotel is quiet, except for road noise. The road isn't hugely busy, but cars do pass regularly and the road surface makes them noisy. We had the windows open so I'm guessing it would have been a lot quieter with them closed. The hotel staff are lovely and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was good: mostly cereal, bread, fruit, and croissants, with a choice of scrambled or boiled eggs, and very good coffee. Tea was available but the coffee was better. It takes just over five minutes to walk to the main shopping area with a large supermarket and many cafés as well as other shops. We felt very comfortable and at home and next time we need a hotel in this area, we will be staying here.

Reviewed By Dirk EThe Hotel is a little tired looking and in some need of re-newal. Rooms look dated as does the furniture and fittings but are clean. The Hotel is located right next to the Elbe and close to Hamburg so it's a great little stop over for Bike riders following the river, and that seems to be the case with a lot of guests. Pretty Easy to get into Hamburg if you choose to stay outside of the city as easy to reach with Public Transport. Breakfast is decent and plentiful, unfortunately the restaurant and bar was closed due to refurbishment during our visit. The Hotel is under pretty new ownership and the objective seems to be to make it better, witnessed by the refurb and other works that were going on. If that extends to the rooms this could be a little Gem in the making....

Reviewed By Eagle_dkSmall pension with relaxed, informal and local spirit. View from room and restaurant to river Elbe. Free parking in front or across the busy road. Room a little old fashioned (in the good sense), clean and quite cosy but could need a bit of maintenance. Bathroom needs upgrade and cleaning of balcony could be better. Nevertheless, the friendly and hospitable hosts make you feel welcome. Superb fish dinner at a good price and nice breakfast the following day. Good value for money.

The hotel and restaurant impresses with its ideal location directly on the Elbe. He is only 30 km to downtown Hamburg. The historic city of Lüneburg and Lauenburg are only about 20 km away. Most of the comfortable 15 Non smoking rooms, one has a great view of the river. By selection of EZ, DZ and triple rooms, the hotel is suitable for families, as well as for individual guests. Also guests from home are welcome to eat. Especially guests who would like to fish, come in "elb sailor" their money. When the sun shines, you can relax on the large terrace. Even as a location for celebrations, the hotel is wonderful. Pets are allowed at a small cost. Parking is free.

Reviewed By mgaehwiler2016Auf der Durchreise sehr kuzfristig hier gelandet wurden wir angenehm überrascht. Sauberes, rel. grosses Familienzimmer und v.a sehr gute Küche! Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Liegt zwar direkt an der Strasse, wir haben aber kaum was davon mitbekommen.

Worst staff and service ever I seen in my life.
Reviewed By Kamil MThis Hotel is a total mistake, I ordered a room with breakfast, I was not informed that it is not on offer, I paid the full amount, I was kicked out of the hotel during my stay, for trying to assert my rights as a consumer, I do not know who said if I did not take my things from the room , goes to the BIN, he is a typical racist, I did not receive a refund for the breakfast that was not there, one set of towels for 5 days of stay, no information in English, I was treated,The person in the photo is, in my opinion, a racist.Never book a room at Owner is absolute lie, the hotel was empty, I called the police and reported that I could not get into the room, you offered me nothing, until the man is not doing well to the lies you are telling. The police were there and no one told me I had done anything wrong. I have never encountered such deceitful staff as you in my life.
