Reviewed By marlenehawkinsThis hotel was clean, well-maintained. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had good amenities. The beds were very comfortable. There was no elevator which was not a big deal for us, but may be an issue for others, so if you need an elevator, ask for a ground level room. There was not a lot of noise for the outside which made our night very enjoyable. As well, there is not breakfast included, but there is a Jungle Jim’s restaurant on site. There is a coffee machine in the lobby. We really enjoyed our stay.

So I emailed the hotel asking for a booking confirmation. It has been a week and the hotel has not responded. I re-sent my original email to the hotel yesterday, still no response. This hotel claims to have a 24/7 reservation desk. I stay in hotels constantly. This is the first time I have never received a response from a hotel. EXTREMELY unprofessional. Cancelling the booking. Enjoy the summer!

Totally disorganised stay away
Reviewed By IrishT99Arrived at hotel at 5pm for a 3 night stay having had a 3am start , although I’d had a reservation for two weeks prior to arrival was told my room was not ready they needed 30 minutes to clean the room . At 7pm my room was finally ready , the room is reasonably clean and well furnished but the hallways are filthy look like they haven’t seen a vacuum in weeks. The receptionist left the front desk unattended twice for approx 10 mins while I waited smoke break !! While she was away two people entered the hotel looking for rooms and left without speaking to anyone The reason I choose this location was because they advertised a restaurant on the property, was told it was closed because lack of supplies might be open the following evening. Disorganised , disrespectful, in professional Will never stay here again

Nestled in western Newfoundland's scenic Humber Valley, Grenfell Campus invites you to experience clean, affordable and comfortable accommodations, great service and world renowned hospitality. We offer two types of accommodations: The chalet style apartments include a fully-equipped kitchen, a living area, 4 private single bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. The traditional style residence rooms include one shared bathroom per two private bedrooms and a full refrigerator. A common kitchen and lounge area is available on each floor. Other features include laundry facilities, free local calls, free internet access. Ask for the new Residence Complex to stay in a brand new building that just opened to the public in September 2013. We operate from from May 3 to August 18. Weekly and monthly rates are available for some room types.

Reviewed By Danielle506We stayed at Grenfell Campus for 5 days last week and we enjoyed our stay very much. The staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful. I’ve stayed here before and chose to again because I enjoyed it. We were in the old building, the Arts and Science building. The rooms are small but it’s what you expect at a college dorm room and for the price it’s great as you are out exploring all day and just need a place to sleep. We enjoyed having the kitchen available to make some meals and having read the website we knew to bring our own items. The kitchen was kept very clean and tidy and we tried to keep it that was as well. Last time I was there, there was an issue of security coming through at night and slamming the door on his way which wasn’t the best when trying to sleep but this time was much better and they quietly closed the door. Overall a great stay and I’ll stay again if I’m in the area during the summer months as it’s a great budget friendly option!

Reviewed By SarahS6813Had an excellent stay. Staff were very friendly, helpful and certainly added extra attention to detail that I wasn’t expecting, for the price. Wine Cellar exceptional. Evidence of extra sanitation, tv remotes sealed. Exceeded expectations.

All chalets are equipped with full kitchen, living room, table & chairs, and bathroom, 43" Smart TV, and wireless internet.

Reviewed By JanetEisnorThis was our third visit to Corner Brook where we stayed at the chalets. The chalets offer you a place to stay that is as comfortable as being home. We were able to spend time visiting with family and then come home at night for a good rest. Very clean and roomy. It’s nice to actually have a chair to sit on verses the side of the bed if you are at a hotel. Being able to prepare your own meals in the kitchen is a great bonus. I would like to see a bit more silverware and dish ware in the cabins as there is not quite enough if you are looking to have guests in for a meal. My only other suggestion would be for the driveway / parking areas be maintained better to reduce the many pot holes and ruts you must try to avoid. That being said it won’t keep me from booking again as I find the chalets a great place to stay. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I look forward to a return visit to Corner Brook and once again staying at the Appalachian Chalets.
