The 8 Best Gardens in Berlin, Germany

March 7, 2022 Janean Rudisill

Berlin is an edgy city, from its fashion to its architecture to its charged political history. The Berlin Wall is a sobering reminder of the hyper-charged postwar atmosphere, and yet the graffiti art that now covers its remnants has become symbolic of social progress. Check out the Weltzeituhr (world time) Clock, topped by a model of the solar system, then turn back time by dining at the historic Zur Letzten Instanz, a 16th century restaurant that was frequented by Napoleon and Beethoven.

Garten der Welt

If you like the nature/gardens/flowers, the Garten der Welt is a MUST in Berlin! The area is really big, with various small or big gardens, such as Brazilian, Indonesian, English, some from Africa, Renaissance, Japanese, Korean, greenhouse, Oriental - my favorite.... with several snacking/eating points, and two types of tickets - with or without cable car (cost 7/9 eur), some little cows, big labyrinth (we got lost there :)), place for children, water path... really you can spend there whole day, in every corner you will find something interesting. Plus, after 17.00 is the entrance for free.

Cafe am Neuen See

The setting is magnificent. We ate there two nights in a row solely because the atmosphere and surroundings were so delightful. The food was decent. Service was prompt. The beer was satisfying. We enjoyed the fire pits outside and the gluhwein.
