Mablethorpe Beach

i live in britain for a year now, my boyfriend showed me around loads of places, from scotland all the way down to dover.... this lovely beach in Mablethorpe is by far the most charming one. it is a place to calm down. hardly any tourists, very clean, lovely soft sand and dunes for miles... just stunning. we just love it. there are no „typical“ pleasure beach activities around, you can drive down to Skegness for that (not far) ... but if you want to relax, this is the place for you!

We really enjoyed our visit. The animals are obviously very well cared for and there is a lovely cafe on site. The sanctuary does a truly wonderful job.

Lovely, but they have to pay to go in there too !!, the boats... 1 adult & 2 children / 2 children & 1 adult. good job I wasn't there when my children were small. we had 5 children !! how would we manage that. lovely ideas, but very expensive for folks who haven't got all this money just so's the children can have a bit of fun

Visited with my 7 year old boy and we both had a fantastic time. The "total wipeout" course is really good fun, even when you keep falling off like I did into the water. The staff are very friendly and well organised. This attraction is...MoreHi Mark, Great to hear of the clearly awesome Aqua Park splash you both recently experienced. Mablethorpe Beach

Reviewed By Ken C - Boston, United Kingdom

This beach fits the image of an English beach perfectly...almost totally sandy, donkey rides and close by, amusements, ice creams and places to eat.
If, like us, you have a dog, at certain times of the year you won't be able to take your dog onto the central section of the beach (ie the most popular part.) However dog walkers are used to these courtesies and the walk either end where dogs are permitted is not onerous.
Signage explaining the of year when restrictions apply is fairly easy to find, but I found it less easy to see any signs further along the beach to indicate where the restrictions ended. Another dog walker passing by explained. Nonetheless, I noticed a dog in the restricted area. This may have been a blatant disregard or the rules or perhaps a misunderstanding due to poor signage.
The Beach itself is easy to get onto from the Promenade is you are able bodied. The Promenade is 'stepped' almost all the way along, end to end, making it easy to get on and off the sand at any point. However, if you have mobility difficulties then it is probably a challenge and anything with wheels - buggy, mobility scooter etc - will find the sand hard going, not to mention possibly damaging, particularly to electric motors.
On the day of our visit, it was the last weekend of the school holidays and the beach was busy. Possibly slightly better than Skegness where the tide goes out a long way, but lacking the range of other facilities such as pier, model village etc.

Dunes Leisure Mablethorpe Fairground

A small fair ground with all the usual attractions but not very busy when we went there. The prices are quite expensive unless you can find some of the 2 for 1 price offer vouchers. Friendly staff who are attentive. It needs to get more people in to get a fun atmosphere bubbling away.
