Reviewed By klaaswijnsmaAn excellent get away in the heart of the German Schwarzwald. I took my mother for a week of holiday into the German Schwarzwald or Black Forest region. The region, made famous by the brothers Grimm (the authors, not the movie) is beautiful in every way. Hotel Hirschen is a pearl in this beautiful idyllic scenery. Run by the 5th generation its the 4th generation Junghans that takes the podium in customer service, kindness and general a heart felt sevice. Convenience wise we opted for halb pension and boy... The breakfast is superb and so is the meals served but do yourself a pleasure and take at least once the time to endulge yourself in their A la carte dining. Their Hirschen burger is a pure joy. While this review is a bit lengthy... The rauchquard and Bergkristall types rooms are the ones you want. Trust me.. If you want a quick stopover or a Base in the Schwarzwald.. This is the hotel for you.

Lovely family run hotel in beautiful rural location
Reviewed By G_A_E_and_MBArrived in a mid-Summer thunderstorm and the staff couldn't have been more helpful, very friendly and made the children (and ourselves) so welcome. Hotel is in a lovely location within the Black Forest, with an easy 5 minute stroll into the small town with just the essential amenities (pub / restaurant, small shops, etc). Room was very spacious for our family, and it was wonderful to have 2 separate rooms (the children's single beds were in a kind of entrance / separate section). Overall, the accommodation was very spacious, even including a large balcony with pleasant view. The kids also loved the hotel grounds, where they made friends with the hotel's bunny rabbit! PS - only downside was lack of working wi-fi

Reviewed By Road374139A very, very nice hotel managed by a friendly family. The rooms are perfectly clean and quite big. The location is good, no trafic noise at night,the restaurant is fantastic and so is the breakfast. I absolutely recomend this hotel.

Reviewed By NordiquesWe were driving by and saw this hotel on the side of the highway, situated in a valley with big, green hills all around. It was such a quiet place, we thought it would be a perfect place for our first night after a long day of flying. The price was ok, a bit much for such an out of the way location, but you pay for this type of peacefulness and stunning scenery. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous, the room was big and we asked for a view across the highway to the open field and hills. We were given a nice room with an amazing view! The meals in the restaurant were very good too! The continental breakfast was good, not a lot of selection as other places I've been in, but enough for breakfast.

Reviewed By SapeTV TIch war im Oktober mit meiner Familie für eine Woche auf dem Martinhansenhof. Die Ferienwohnung war sehr Modern und in einem Top Zustand. Der Ausblick war sehr schön und die Wohnung ist sehr schön gelegen. Dadurch das die Wohnung alleine steht und ein gutes Stück von der Straße entfernt ist, hat man überhaupt keine Störgeräusche oder ähnliches.

War Rumpstaek in Friteuse?
Reviewed By Gerhard GGestern haben wir mit unseren Freunden die "Wolfklause" besucht. Wir entschieden uns für vier Rumpsteaks. Nach der Bestellung mussten wir, nach meinem Empfinden lange warten. Ein zweites Weizenbier in der Wartezeit wurde nur mit einer "Flasche" zum gebrauchten Glas serviert! (geht garnicht!) Die vier Steak schwammen auf dem Teller in Fett, schmeckten wie wenn sie aus der Friteuse kamen. "Medium" wie bestellt waren die schon garnicht. Die Ränder hart , ungeniesbar. Oben drauf, glaube ich "Fertigröstzwiebeln". Wir alle haben schweigend dieses "Rumpstaek" in Fett und Pommes - total versalzen gegessen. Als ich mich dann traute und in die Runde fragte, ob nur meines nicht in Ordnung wäre, kam die Rückmeldung, alle Steaks waren gleich verbrozelt und versalzen. Nur das Gemüse war in Ordnung. Beim Abservieren kam die "Service-Hilfe" und nahm uns ohne ein Wort die Teller weg. Mein Einwand, ob sie sich nicht erkundigen wollte, ob es uns gescheckt habe, wurde ignoriert. Zwischenzeitlich reklamierte der Gast am Tisch neben uns, das er schon über eine Stunde auf sein Essen warte. Beim zweiten Mal, ging er an die Theke .... seine Bestellung wurde offensichtlich vergessen. Fast zeitglich mit unserer Zahlungsbitte, kamen laute Stimmen vom Tisch hinter uns .......wir würden gerne noch etwas bestellen..... Vor dem Zahlen sagte ich Frau Echle, das ich noch etwas anzubringen hätte und trug meine Beschwerde vor. Statt auf mich einzugehen, fauchte sie zurück "das empfinde sie als unfair" .... die Bedienungshilfe sei überdies "Rumänin" und verstünde kein deutsch. Ich frage mich dann nur wie man so jemanden im Service arbeiten läßt? Sie kassierte mich jedoch voll ab, ohne jegiche Mühe meine Beschwerde überhaupt ernst zu nehmen, geschweige denn meinen Ärger zu besänftigen, bzw. gut zu machen. So kann man sich auch die Kundschaft kaputt machen.
