Recommend staying here

IT was a great stay and I would recommend staying here. Staff were pleasant and rooms were clean. I would recommend that check in staff inform guests that breakfast is only served until 10 am. We came at 10:15 and everything was cleaned up.

Great location and so clean!

I was a little nervous when we booked the Kent Inn for a weekend away but the people who own it were lovely and the rooms were spotlessly clean. The beds are super comfortable. The bathroom is tiny, which is unfortunate, but it was only one night. I’d happily stay at the Kent Inn again.

Eganridge Resort, Golf Club & Spa

Set atop an expansive ridge, our heritage estate overlooks scenic Sturgeon Lake in the heart of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Towering pines shade an historic, square-timbered manor house. Loon calls echo in the morning air. Lakefront sunsets bring a warm glow to the dining room. Through careful design we blend heritage romance with contemporary luxury. Our premier spa, scenic golf course and fine dining ensure a memorable visit. The Dunsford House is at the heart of the Eganridge estate. Carved from virgin pine forests on the shores of Sturgeon Lake, this gracious log manor home blends Canadian heritage with contemporary luxury. Named for the prominent English family who settled here in 1837, Dunsford House remains one of the region's finest square-timbered structures. Massive hand-hewn logs speak of the home's early 19th-century heritage. On the manicured grounds overlooking the lake, sit five luxuriously furnished one and two bedroom cottages. Rich in history and elegant in appointment, Dunsford House and the cottages rekindle the warmth and grace of an age long past. Enjoy the spectacular view from our spacious Terrace Rooms. The pine-paneled dining room and screened-in deck offer panoramic views of the most splendid scenery in the Kawarthas. An acclaimed menu features regional ingredients presented in the classic French tradition. Our vintage wine selection is unparalleled in the region. Has the potential to be better

We had a 3 night stay with the golf (Green fees only included) breakfast and dinner package in a terrace room which cost just over $500 per night. There were definite pros and cons, for the price I am unable to give eganridge more than a 3. Pros -Room was very clean upon check in, there was a beautiful view of the lake and they have nest Toiletries in the bathroom which smell amazing. -the 9 hole course had nice variety, some par 3, 4's and one par 5. -the dinner every night was really good -the staff are all very friendly -we were able to get tee times for golf and reservations for dinner easily. If you are staying in peak summer months I reccomend you book in advance (and they reccomend this too) -parking very close to our room Cons -when booking the golf package it doesn't say it is a continental breakfast, and you can pay an additional $9 fee to get an actual breakfast. Once we realized this I looked at the other packages and it was stated that it was continental, but it was not disclosed for the one I booked. For the price I was expecting more than pastries (which were good) and juice. We expressed our concern and the owner said there is nothing he could do, but the restaurant manager was awesome and made things right on one of the days we stayed. I could tell that some of the staff also felt bad about the subpar breakfast, but it is not their decision so not much they can do. If you are thinking of booking the breakfast only package, save your money and bring some baked goods from home and juice boxes. -there are no bathrooms on the golf course, they have outhouses that were closed "since COVID". Fine for the men, not fine for the women. -after golfing 18 holes I wanted to take a swim, so I go out to the pool only to be told by a contractor that they were doing maintenance on the waterfall feature. It shouldn't be the responsibility of the contractor to have to tell guests the pool is closed. I went to the front desk and they were not aware of the maintenance happening either, that the contractor just showed up. Anyways, sorry if I was abrupt with the front desk staff, I was warm and was rightfully expecting to take a swim, it isn't their fault the owner doesn't communicate with them. -housekeeping: there is no daily housekeeping, I had to ask for more towels. I understand lots of hotels stopped housekeeping during COVID, but there is no physical distancing, signage or masking in place at Eganridge, it seems to be that the only COVID protocol they really have is no housekeeping lol -plan 2 hours for dinner and 1 hour for breakfast. Not sure if this is really a con though, because everything is very fresh. And if food was ready quicker then they may be compromising on freshness. So just an FYI. -Many of the reviews on here that mention the owner Jason are negative. Many of the cons above are a result of mismanagement (subpar breakfast, not notifying guests of pool closures, lack of housekeeping, no bathrooms on the golf course). Like I said before the staff are all awesome, but have no control over many of the management decisions. Overall, we had a good time but don't think we will be back.

Dated hotel

Hotel is dated. There was old water damage on ceiling on the second level room I was in. They advertise that breakfast is included but it was very limited. If you need a quick stay in the area it will do but don’t have high expectations.

So helpful!

Had to stop here for gas, and ice cream of course. Had trouble docking the boat and owners were super helpful and even keeled. So friendly to us and made what could have been a disaster into a funny memory.
