Mount Tsukuba

Reviewed By ShiningSchnee - Hong Kong, China

We took the cable car up the mountain, then hiked up both peaks of the mountain and down via one of the trails. Sweeping views of the plains and fields and on this very sunny and clear day, we could see as far as Mount Fuji and the Pacific Ocean. There were many interesting rock features along the trail downhill. Very enjoyable hike!

Tsukuba Expo Center

Reviewed By Cielowatcher - Tsukuba, Japan

It is very conveniently located, a short walk from the Tsukuba Center train and bus station. Great for a cold or rainy day, or on a leisurely weekend. The original planetarium program can be enjoyed in English dubbing, via an earpiece that can be borrowed for free. There are also monthly music concerts held in the evening. Some of the exhibits are a bit dated, but there is also a lot of nostalgic paraphernalia from the 1985 Expo that was held here in Tsukuba.

Tsukubasan Shrine

Reviewed By grahamj872 - Tsuchiura, Japan

The shrine itself is beautiful and well maintained. Near the shrine you can take a train to the top of the mountain; a great way to cool off in the middle of summer.
