can you ever get bored of tonkatsu? I don't think so and when an unpretentious place like this frequented by everyone from salary men, house wives, grannies and white collar workers can deliver such a gourmet serving of the stuff I am convinced it's the ultimate food for everyday people

We went here once and bought some cakes and Deserts. Nothing special at all. Never came back again. The portions are really small and the prices are quite high.

Couronne is my favorite bakery in Tsukuba. They have a great variety of breads and free coffee available for clients. Reasonable prices and excellent stuff. Ótima padaria. Vale a pena conferir!

Hyakkotei

Reviewed By beachsamba - Tsukuba, Japan

The place is rather kitschy and not the cleanest but the food more than makes up for that. The tantanmen is spicy and tasty, with chewy, fat noodles with a lot of bite. The fried rice is good enough to eat on its own, and the cashew chicken is gorgeous. However, if you go to Hyakkotei and not order the sweet and sour pork balls (suu-buta), you are missing out on something great! Tender pork deep fried until the outside is crisp, then smothered in a delectable blanket of sweet and sour sauce made of black vinegar (there are two kinds, the other one is the usual red sauce sweet and sour pork).
It is truly unforgettable. Best of all, everything is reasonably priced!

I attended year-end party of my office. The atmosphere of this restaurant is so nice. Varieties of pork-related foods were served. There were so tasty! Foods are also available to buy to bring home. The place is also good for organizing bigger parties. The staffs were very responsive.

cote d'azure has for a long time prided itself on excellent food - notably desserts . The low rankings here are clearly from competing businesses or their friends . The food is excellent , and while a bit over the average cost, is truly in the realm of cost performance.

This is one of popular Italian restaurants in Tsukuba city. There is always queue to wait Seating. The most popular cuisine is "Napoli style" pizza, my favorite is homemade sausage topping on tomato sauce pizza.

Ton Q Iias Tsukuba

Reviewed By MunichEricJ - Munich

As a Ton Katsu fan, I thought this was one of the best. We visited their main outlet, the Hon Ten, which is a few blocks from the Okura Hotel where we were staying. Even at 20:30 mid- week there was a queue, but it took only 10 minutes to be seated at the bar.
I ordered the 240g (a bit more than a half pound) Hirei cut and it was fabulous. The sauce was perfect with the grind- in- the- bowl sesame seeds, and the cabbage dressing was the best I have ever had.
Ton Q have about ten outlets for Ton Katsu plus an Italian restaurant on Route 356 and two Yakiniku places, one of them just 100m from the Italian outlet.
Highly recommended.

Penny Lane,Tsukuba

Cannot say anything negative about this place. I tried a number of different breads/pastries from the bakery. All great. However the blue cheese/walnut pastry was absolutely amazing.
We shared three meals, fondue, Hamburg and a platter that included chicken liver pate etc. The negative is that because the food is delicious and the serving generous, we over ate!!! But without any regrets.
Tried a few sakes, all good.
Service was exceptional. If I was ever in Tsukuba again, I would certainly go back. The place left a positive memory.
