Thames Ditton Miniature Steam Railway

This railway is operated by volunteers. All profits are reinvested into the railway. This site is an oasis of an open green space a stones throw from Kingston. We operate a 7.25 gauge ground level railway AND a multi gauge elevated railway. We offer parties access to our meadow complete with large picnic tables and umbrellas. On open days we run trains between 2-5:30pm. We also have a decent kitchen offering traditional cream teas and an ice cream parlour complete with diet busting ice creams. The railway opens on the first Sunday of every month from Easter until October plus any bank holiday Sunday and Monday. In December we are in our Santa Special - this is a ticket only event - tickets go on sale in August and very year. For more information check out the web site http://malden-dsme.co.uk Interested in railways? Contact us to dind out how to get involved.

Hobbledown

Hobbledown is an extraordinary day out! Talk to animals, walk the high-ropes, get lost in the maze, prepare for battle with the Zorbs, hide in the underground tunnels but remember, unless you find the Crystallite all of this will disappear...

I really enjoyed my time at Thorpe Park- there are lots of different rides (spinny, roller coasters, water rides etc) although I would say if you aren’t a fan of big rides you might struggle. Lots of different food places to eat- plenty of choice for everyone! Overall a great day out for teens/adults!

We love coming to Chessington, so much so we make sure we have either a season pass or a merlin pass every year. I suffer from arthritis & fibro so at larger theme parks I struggle to wait long periods of time and often struggle to get on and off rides, but Chessington I find so much easier especially at off peak periods where we can often go on a ride more than once because of short wait times. It's also a shorter drive for us so my joints dont seize up as much. We absolutely adore staying at the Safari hotel, waking up and seeing zebras and giraffes whilst eating a delicious breakfast has become a little addictive. The animals are beautiful, and we try to do the VIP experiences as often as possible which are a great value for money. We have done the giraffe feed, owl meet and greet and the capybara meet and greet. The staff that assisted us on those were very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. The staff are brilliant at Chessington, very friendly and chatty, they make you feel comfortable, welcome and above all, valued. The staff chat to us like we have been friends for years which we really enjoy especially as we work long hours sometimes 6 days a week and rarely have time to socialise with anyone. The staff are probably another reason why we would choose Chessington over any other park. There is so much to do here; rides, zoo, animal shows/talks, aquarium, different restaurants, VIP experiences etc. So you could never get bored! A massive thank you to all the staff at Chessington for your hard work and for making us feel so welcome (even if we are probably too old ????)

We visited the Savannah Splashpool and other facilities here during a stay at the Safari Hotel. Nothing negative about the experience. Staff were friendly and attentive ensuring at all time that people were safe and using the facilities correctly. The splashpool has excellent features for kids. The towel charge was reasonable and great selection of toiletries to purchase should guests need them. The whole area including the changing rooms was clean and tidy. Would recommend people booking their hour slot far in advance to avoid disappointment as spaces fill up quickly.
