Black Horse Trails

At the base of the majestic Outeniqua mountains in the Wilderness, lies our little charming horse ranch, Black Horse Trails. Our rides venture into the forests and mountains from a 1.5 hour Indigenous Forest Trail, 3.5 hour Rockpool Trail, full day trails to a 2 and 3 day overnight trail. We have suitable steeds for any level of experience you may or may not have on a horses back, everyone is welcome! Although for our day trips and 2/3 day trip riders need to be experienced. Please visit our website to see all our options and prices (which are very reasonable). We are speaking fluent German, too, and Spanish...

We did a 3 and a half hour rock pool outride today. The entire experience was fantastic, the ride wound through the most beautiful forests, on five of the most well looked after trail horses I have yet to see. The horses each had their own unique personality, and seemed to really enjoy being around people and each other. The guides were very experienced, they treated their horses well, and coped extremely well with our party of five, which comprised varying levels of riding experience, from fairly proficient and experienced, to one rider, who had sat on a horse for the very first time today. The guides (who are also the owners) were able to tailor the ride to accommodate all the riders levels of experience, making it a thoroughly enjoyable day for all.

Map of Africa Viewpoint

Reviewed By MyraLochner - George, South Africa

Picturesque and winding country road leading through the magnificent Southern Cape forestry area, to the Map of Africa, a popular lookout point for tourists to our beautiful country. Unforgettable and breathtaking views of several rivers, coastal towns, with exquisite wildlife and exotic bird-life - all the way down the magical Garden Route, the region where I am located currently.
