Galt Museum & Archives

We love learning about the history of an area we visit and this is a great place to start when coming to Lethbridge. It's a beautiful building with gorgeous views all around. The hands-on activities in the Discovery Hall were fun for our boys ages 7, 11, and 15. The gift shop had really neat things, and we enjoyed a cup of coffee and the view from the little cafe area. The grounds are nice to walk around on the trails. You can even walk down to Fort Whoop Up and the Nature Center from here.

Fort Whoop-Up

Fort Whoop-Up is a replica of an original fur trading fort built in the late 1800s. We explore the history, cultures, and traditions of the communities that lived in the region in the time the original Fort Whoop-Up was built and operated. We bring to life the experiences and lives of tribes, traders and more in this historic fort.
