Hotel du Perron

A little more smile a little less bill

I stayed in this structure for a nice nature discovery weekend. The location is excellent, next to Spa,and in the heart of Theux, a small beautiful town. The room was very spacious and very clean, with all facilities and with a nice view. Traveling in covid times, safety is more important than usual. But it seems in this hotel covid doesnt exist, since the receptionist was no wearing any mask in a small closed space, and gel was absent. It was however replaced in the room by a 1/4 water bottle at 2,20 euros (unacceptable! When it s hot it s appreciated to provide a complimentary water bottle). Moreover, staff was nice but no professional...there was no conversation, didnt ask where we come from and why, didnt ask if she could advice us where to go (and she saw we were looking at the brochures), no support at all. She took the money for the check in, and then we didnt see anybody else for the rest of the staying. Finally, taking into account the service and the equipment (although, again, the room was good) i believe the price is too high. Very small improvements could make this place a great place for unforgettable holidays!

Klein hotel maar ruime kamers

In de buurt van het circuit. Mooie nette kamers.

Great building & hospitality from the owner

We were greeted by Marc who was super helpful and friendly, The house is unique and has a lot of charm with abundant parking, the location is central. We walked to the center and found our way back easily. The bed mattress was soft and the bathrooms not so cozy. We got to breakfast at 9am and the bread was out. They had to go out and buy extra pastry and beds. Average to below average breakfast menu. A great 1 night stay away from the traditional hotel environment.

My husband and I were on a 4 week motorcycling trip around Europe and this property was due to be our last stop for a 2 night break before going to Calais. In the morning my husband received a call from a french lady who could not speak a word of english but we established she wanted to know when we would arrive at the property. We advised her it would be approx 5pm. On arriving at the property which took some finding as we thought it was a hotel we went to the door and were greated by a french lady with a totally blank look on her face as to why we were there! After sometime she worked out that we were due to stay for 2 nights. She very quickly then advised us about the key code situation and showed us upstairs to our room. There was a sort of communial sofa, tea/coffee station on the landing but no supplies that I could see. The atmosphere was quite strange and frosty. We were pay £100 per night for this and it was quite basic. Whilst I was in the room upstairs my husband went to look at the pool and found it to be in a state of repair with stones up at one end and loose stones the other end. Sadly we did not take photos. He then came upstairs to me and we decided it was not worth what we were paying (we specifically wanted the pool as it was due to be a nice day the next day and my husband was going in to Spa and leaving me to relax). We tried to find what we thought to be the owner, despite her handbag being open to the world on the kitchen table she was knowhere to be found. It was raining at this point and we swiftly found another place to stay very close by and left. We have tried to get some compensation from this booking and have been totally blown out. The woman told booking.com that we never even showed up!!! Save yourselves any grief and DO NOT book this poor excuse for a holiday break
