A DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE
Reviewed By estherwhippetFirst impressions is that it is rather old fashioned--back in time and not a lot of people about. Although it was clean, it smelt rather musty especially the bedding. However the bedroom was roomy and we had a nice balcony. Bathroom was a challenge as rather cramped. The staff (only seemed to be one person doing all the jobs) were friendly and helpful. The food was good and freshly prepared. The owner/ manager who we only saw on checking out appeared to be a man of very few words in any language and no personality. We would stay here again if there were no alternatives.

Reviewed By EBWhite123As you enter the premises of the hotel the scent of German country is in the air with the backdrop of mountains and a historic castle. the town bad Munster is small but is a great town for friendly service and gorgeous views. although the hotel burgblick advertised as a three star hotel is a far cry from this. As you enter the hotel you will find that the parking is small and fills up often. There is a parking lot a short way from the hotel that is all dirt for the hotel but it is a walk from the hotel. As you enter, the hotel is not welcoming at all. Artificial plants are filled with dust and pictures of the owners children fill the office that is cluttered with wires and paper. The staircase to the rooms is in typical spiral European style. Most advertised three star hotels have elevators but this hotel did not. As I entered my room I noticed dust all over in the air and no sheets on the bed. Only a comforter and 2 blankets stored in a cabinet on the side of my room. The door had a window that was opened when I entered. My biggest complaint of the room was bugs. BUGS ARE EVERYWHERE! Spiders, Ants, Flys, ETC... are all over in the bathroom and in the bedroom. It was disgusting. I left with bug bites on me. The shower was small as a 130 lbs pound person I barely fit. Also they don't provide toiletries! What 3 star hotel does not provide toiletries to guest? On a positive note the hotel had a television supplying 29 channels and the maid did change the blankets if I asked her because I marked the blankets. The hotel says that it has a five star restaurant down stairs where the lobby rests. This is an understatement, the restaurant is bland with gaudy German decor and a small bar that makes no business. The food tastes microwaved and bland similar to the ugly decor in the bedrooms and restaurant. The service in the restaurant is ran by teenagers who are trying to act as professional as possible. Overall Hotel Burgblick is really a miss in my book and should be categorized as a 1 star hotel as the service. food. decor. and experience were terrible.

Reviewed By Kylen WWe came to Bad-Münster am Stein-Ebernburg for the Mittelaltermarkt, and stayed three nights as a way to wind down our two-week trip. I honestly wasn't sure what to expect when I booked a stay in this little town, but the family Theobald made us feel very warm and welcome here at their establishment. Our 'Komfort-Doppelzimmer' room was spacious, modern and very comfortable indeed. All of the facilities were clean, in good working order, and the mountain waterfall scene on the walls of the shower cube was a nice extra touch. We had plenty of space to stretch out and just relax while exploring this sleepy little town and getting our feet back under us for the final leg of our journey. Free Wi-Fi is available, although we found getting a solid connection a bit hit-or-miss in our room. We were able to get done what we needed with a little bit of creative positioning in the room for good signal. Breakfast was a light but traditional German buffet of breads and sandwich fixings. We were offered fresh-made eggs by our hosts each morning as well, and everything was consistently very high quality. We also ate one night's dinner at the restaurant (Jahrezeiten), which was an absolute delight. Our food was delicious and reasonably priced for a nice and upscale restaurant. The atmosphere was always comfortable and the staff was friendly and attentive. Many thanks to the family Theobald for a wonderful end to our trip!
