Church Cemetery

This cemetery is truly special. There is a wonderful variety of headstones, obelisks and statues. The caves and interrments in rock faces are something you're unlikely to see elsewhere. You can reach this cemetary quite easily from the City Centre on the Phoenix Park tram line. I didn't have a guide, but would recommend getting one if you go. There's so much to see and the layout is quite confusing. Take a quiet stroll... and some beautiful photos.

49 servicemen were laid to rest here during the First World War but when the Second World War began space was set aside for RAF burials, and today you will find a large RAF plot where 80 Commonwealth and 400 Polish servicemen are buried.
