Noisy and Expensive

Reviewed By Nelldex

I stayed for 1 night on the 8th June for Business. I paid £179 for the night. I was told I had been upgraded for free which i thought was nice of them! Whilst the room looked OK the shower cubicle is tiny and suitable for a small child not an adult. When I found a set of complimentary ear plugs on the bedside table it became clear it will be a noisy place to stay. The room AC unit was noisy and did not work so as the room was hot so I used the fan that was in the wardrobe. You really do need to use the earplugs as all you can hear is the multiple AC units belonging to other rooms churning away. I would not recommend this place and certainly not worth £179 per night!

Too noisy on a Saturday night

Reviewed By jackhagen

Local bars and nightclubs were loud until 3am, made it very difficult to sleep, even with very robust ear plugs. The soundproofing was not up to requirement. I would strongly recommend that noone stays here on a Friday or Saturday night

Last minute booking

Our daughter who is at University in Nottingham landed up in hospital and we landed up rushing up to Nottingham and booking online while on our way up. We can not fault the service we received. We originally booked 2 nights accommodation and kept extending our stay day by day as the need arose to be up in Nottingham longer. We had a lovely spacious room with lovely modern decor and bathroom that was equally lovely. Beds were extremely comfortable with cotton linen. Bath towels were lovely and fluffy. Lovely toiletries provided in the bathroom. In the wardrobe were lovely fluffy bath robes and slippers, an iron and ironing board. The room facilities also included a kettle, cups to make hot beverages. We found it really handy that the rooms all have mini fridges where we were able to keep food chilled. All the staff in the hotel were extremely friendly and very helpful, including the food and beverages staff, house keeping and front of house. A special mention goes to Nicola on the front desk who was extremely accommodating and alway did her best to ensure we got the very best room rate for us each time we needed to extend our stay. We would definitely stay here in the future when visiting Nottingham. There was ample parking which was free. The hotel location is perfectly situated to get to from the motorway and easy access to the city centre. The setting is gorgeous with a moat in front of the hotel with geese and ducks paddling in the water. We felt like we were in the country with this gorgeous setting. We felt well looked after would not hesitate in recommending this lovely hotel to others.

Didn't get to use the bar or the restaurant unfortunately but room came with coffee and tea which sorted us out in the morning.

A restful experience

Reviewed By sunshinetimes2013

The overall impression of the hotel on arrival is of a light and spacious area surrounded by the green of the Nottingham campus. Everywhere looked clean and very tidy. There is plenty of seating around the large reception area. Bedroom: It was quiet along the corridor and I wasn’t disturbed by any slamming doors or other guests. The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom has an excellent shower and there are plenty of towels. There is a design fault with the wash hand basin in that water spills behind the basin unless the tap is turned on fully. There is ample space in the wardrobe but I would have liked a better lit mirror in the bedroom. The WiFi was good when I stayed and the tv worked well (I point this out in contrast to my last stay at a Premier Inn). Breakfast was great and there was plenty of choice. There are also generous top ups of tea and coffee. I didn’t eat dinner at the restaurant so cannot comment on food or service there. All the staff I spoke to were helpful and very friendly. Only a short walk away is Wollaton Park and there is a tram stop nearby. The car park, in two parts, is quite large yet was almost full when I arrived. The conference centre must share this and parking got easier later in the day. I felt very rested at the end of my stay.

Stood on a screw in the room

Reviewed By Rodgerthis123

After checking in and receiving the key and made my way to my room, the room seemed fine and I decided to jump into the shower. After getting out of the shower I walked round the side of the bed to unpack my suitcase and I stood straight onto a screw that was about 1 1/2 inches long. I returned the screw to the receptionist and handed it to her, she just looked at it and said are you alright? That was all she had to say about it. If this was a child it could’ve been very serious indeed. Just wondering the the room was actually cleaned before me.

Nice hotel, but...

Reviewed By davise12021

It's in a god location, close to town but just far enough away to be quiet. (ideal for Rock City). It's a nice enough hotel, there was even a bath in the room, but as an older version be aware that there is no air-con, which made for an uncomfortable night, and very few sockets. Also the parking is at a multi-storey 5/6 minutes away, not a problem for us, but for some, or in the rain, this is not ideal, nor is it cheap
