Wonderful place

The whole experience was excellent from the welcoming homemade cake to the delicious breakfasts (especially Dave's fried bread). From the beginning of our 2 night stay to the end, Dave and Netti could not have been more helpful from their advice regarding the best restaurant (to book in advance) to their loaning us one of their walking books as we had left ours behind. Will be recommending this place to all our friends and family!

No drinking water?

This place sells itself as a guest house. What they mean is they have a load of bedrooms (some of which have ensuites, others have private bathrooms which we had to work out ourselves because the place didn't leave any information on information like that...), a nice enough living room and... that's it. No kitchen. This meant, when we arrived after a long day and wanted a glass of water, we had to fill glasses from the bathroom sinks. The water didn't taste good. We'd arrived too late to buy bottled water from the local Nisa so that wasn't great. The next day we spoke to an employee who cheerily assured us that none of the water was drinkable and that there should be bottled water available to all guests - but there wasn't currently. The standard room was fine, if small. The living room was all right. The bed was far from the worst I'd stayed in. It was expensive given we paid £110 per night and they didn't even provide drinking water. I wouldn't recommend the place really. I like drinking water, I do it most days.

Wow this was a unexpected treat in a tiny village! Three of us had the pleasure of having dinner here and what a gourmet experience! Every course was a delight and the Timothy Taylor Landlord Bitter was outstanding. Not cheap but worth every penny. Treat yourself you won't be disappointed.

Ashfield House

Beautiful accommodation right in the in the heart of Grassington. Built in 1604, Ashfield House house has plenty of character with individual guest accommodation, all with en suite facilities. When you have stayed at Ashfield House you'll already be planning your next trip.

Stayed for 2 nights recently. Very nice property situated in the centre of Grassington. Bedrooms well decorated, clean and tidy. Excellent cooked breakfast in the morning. Plenty of car parking space to the rear of property. A slight criticism. Disappointed that our room was not serviced in between our 2 night stay. I really don't think we can carry on using the Covid excuse. I appreciate if a guest doesn't want it doing, then fair enough. Apart from that, a lovely place to stay and would definitely recommend

Booked to stay here Easter Sunday for one night. For £100 B&B I wasn’t expecting the Ritz and I wasn’t disappointed!! I stayed with my husband and our dog, the pub is a bit tired, the outside area was packed, it was a warm sunny afternoon so we managed to bag a table and ordered food. It was soooo good!!! Sausage and mash for me and curry for the hubby. Delicious!! A young man arrived and set up his mike and speaker and sang cover versions with just an acoustic guitar. He was really good too! As the sun went down we went inside. It’s like stepping back into the 80’s. Tired decor, carpets not ideal, altogether a little bit tatty but what do you want for £100 a night? The landlord(?) tall chap with a beard wasn’t stingy with the wine measures and made a fuss of our dog with treats etc. Special mention to Aimee the lass who seemed to do everything, bar work, waitress, check in clerk, superb and pleasant and polite! The room was ok ( room 2) very small considering we had a Labrador with us. Clean and the bed was odd, not uncomfy just odd ?‍♀️. Bathroom was clean but the over mirror light was cracked and broken. The kettle was dirty and no biccies on the tray but plenty of those little tubs of milk! ( they always run out). Breakfast was good, hubby got full English and it was huge! My poached eggs were perfect. Dining room cold and the cleaner was using a substantial amount of bleach… not good when you’re eating. . There was a dumb waiter in the corner, brilliant! All in all, it was okay, not bad but not brill. What it lacks in finesse and cleanliness it makes up for in atmosphere. If you want posh, don’t book. If you want a welcome, good grub and a pint, book.
