Reviewed By Gustavo GThis is a very cosy and well situated little hotel by a wonderful lake. The views are gorgeous, facilities are great, with sauna by the lake, canoes, good sized rooms and a restaurant with excellent cuisine. Perfect weekend retreat.

Very pleased with the stay
Reviewed By Pauline AWe booked this Hotel very last minute and were very pleased with our stay. The view was great! Our window looked out onto the lake and parts of the forest and it was just beautiful. The service was very good, as we received additional guidance and possibilities for the children and our dog to occupy. Very children and dog friendly! The food provided was also very good and we liked the friendly welcome and great amount of care we received.

Disappointing tapas meal at an outrageous price
Reviewed By sosofarWe had trouble finding a restaurant and ended up in the restaurant of the pittoresk Vaxblekaregardens Hotel. The restaurant offered a tapas menu which looked attractive. We were surprised that the restaurant did not offer a kids menu for the two young children in our company. We ended up ordering dishes which were far too sophisitcated for their young taste buds. The dishes on the menu were extremely small (e.g. one clam/coquille in a sauce) or two pieces of bread at relatively high prices. The result of this was that we already had run up a high bill and still felt hungry. We went to a Burger King to fill the empty stomach of the kids. Not our ideal dinner experience....

Disappointment at high room rate
Reviewed By Abundance_of_milesThis is what a rip-off looks like:-)! Rooms are 400 m away from the hotel and parking is abundant and free just across the street. Admittedly beds are comfortable, but the rest is a simple hostel / bed & breakfast style that have not seen renovation in a while. Bathrooms are very old standard (think 1980s) and one was quite smelly. Breakfast is 400 m away in the main hotel – and it is disappointing. Few selections and not well maintained. This would have been OK if the price tag was not the same as a classic Scandic, but it was – so please avoid or make certain you pay for what it is worth.
