Great weekend with our Dog. Another fab recommendation from pets pyjamas. Very warm welcome from the staff. The room was so clean as was the whole place. Great food and fabulous walks in the area. Our dog was so welcome and we loved it. Danielle was in her first week and was excellent, thank you. Great menu, good selection of wine and fabulous indoor and outdoor seating area. There are some great walks from the garden. No need to drive. Go to the back of the garden and over a small bridge. There’s a 2, or 6k walk which take you through rolling landscapes with wonderful views. If you’re thinking of going then do. Thanks to all the staff, you made us all very welcome.

Filthy carpet and missing sink plug

Staying tonight at this hotel to visit family. We have often stayed here but the hotel rooms have been progressively going down hill. I arrived here before my wife and was not happy with the room. I complained to reception and asked for a change of room. I was told that they were fully booked so not possible to move. I later picked up my wife and she was very unhappy with the room she complained again and my some miracle they found another room. Unfortunately it was the furthest it could possibly be from reception up and down a number of stairs so as we were only staying one night we decided not to move. Things really need to improve here, it used to be a well run hotel.

Got pub, great setting, lovely food.

There have been a couple of less than complimentary reviews recently so I wanted to share our Good Friday experience. Booked a table for 5, was given the option of a table inside or outside when we arrived as it was a glorious spring day. Attentive waiting staff, good selection of ales for those that like real beer, varied menu and when the food came it was very good indeed. As the pub got busier, the waiting staff struggled a bit to cope, and things slowed down. So if you’re not in a hurry, and want a traditional English country pub experience, you shouldn’t be disappointed.

My daughter and I stayed overnight in a twin room. It was not en-suite so had to go out of our room to use the facilities. I did not pack a dressing gown. The room was OK, bedspreads did not look very clean, but the bedding itself was. The couple managing the place were standing in while the managers were on holiday. They were both very welcoming and couldn't do enough for you. We had an evening meal, which was good value and very nice. Breakfast was included and was also very good. I think with a little TLC it could be a very good place to stay.
