Falls of Acharn

Reviewed By lenbasey - Killin, United Kingdom

This is a short walk (we did it with three small kids, 2, 5 and 8) in about one hour. It is steep up to the hermit’s cave but really easy to follow and the initial waterfall and later falls are so impressive. Don’t miss this - just down the road from the Crannog Centre. Don’t drive back towards Killin on this side of the Loch - the road is very narrow. Just go back to Kenmore and drive along the wider and faster road at the other side!

Falls of Bruar

This pretty waterfall is just a brisk two-mile hike from the House of Bruar shopping complex.

Beautiful walk along the falls. It was raining but that didn’t dampen our enjoyment or views. There are steep cliff drops however it’s not a requirement to go to the edge to get a full experience. It’s located at the back of the House of Bruar which has a cafe post walk.

Came down here to try and spot the famous leaping Scottish Salmon and we weren’t disappointed lol saw 4 in an hour absolutely brilliant. It’s a lovely spot to come just to for picnic and spend one time in the great outdoors.

This is one of the nicest waterfalls I have been to in scotland. So peaceful, although the stairs were very steep, so take care. The country walk through the forest was so peaceful & stunning views especially in the autumn.
