Wanfenglin, Forest of Ten Thousand Peaks in Xingyi, is one of China’s most beautiful peak Forests amidst craggy/magnificent Karst landscape. It is as if you get transported into a scroll painting of green-grey peaks and yellow/green fields. My first visit in Dec 2007 was on a foggy afternoon and not much could be seen during our tram ride! My second visit offered much more impressive and beautiful sceneries that looked like a vast well-manicured lawn interspersed with doll-like houses but it has evolved and become more commercialized over the past 5 years. However, still worthwhile to reminisce!

The concrete arch bridge spanning across the Maling River gorge, one of the most beautiful and scenic waterways in China, is truly an impressive sight when viewed walking through the gorge with its many cascading Waterfalls and narrow passages set onto its cliffs. Like to share my photo taken on a foggy morning with the bridge is still visible and the largest waterfall in the gorge seen in the foreground.

This is a nice easy place for a bike ride, which includes stopping at one of the outdoor shops along the way to eat fried potatoes with a local barbeque seasoning. Xingyi and this area nearby is one of the friendliest places I've ever been to. It is a dry climate with bright Sunshine, so be sure to have sunscreen for an afternoon bike ride.
As far a beautiful scenery, this area was smaller than expected and the scenery that was accessible was not spectacular, but the friendly people and delicious food made it a very nice place to visit. One note about renting a bike, if you are tall (I am 193 cm tall (6' 4"), be prepared to ride a bike that is too small for comfort.

Quit disappointed, came after noon, no one was there. Looks like all the community moved to new homes down the valley. If you want to see old buildings it's a good place but not to see the minority. If you around go inside. I hope they will preserve it.
