Relaxing biergarten
Reviewed By Juhani KOn our cycling trip from Passau to Wien, we stopped here for a lunch. We were sitting in a sunny biergarten, which was nice. The food was ok. Service was friendly. The side of the restaurant on the other side of the street was that of rather typical gasthof. Good place to stop in between cycling.

Perfect and Eclectic
Reviewed By funhogs2We have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the last few years while bicycle touring around the world. This was a very different kind of place to spend the night but everything was perfect, especially the two nice ladies who operate this place. The positives: you’ll never get an opportunity to stay in a bed and breakfast such as this place with its history dating back to the 1500’s, the 2 ladies are especially friendly and accommodating, the rooms and property are clean, the rooms are updated with modern plumbing and electricity, the water pressure in sink in shower is great, there is no air conditioning but with ceilings over 16 feet high and large windows the room never became warm, very quiet room, good linens and towels, locked bicycle storage, walking distance to several restaurants and grocery store (ask the owner to tell you how to take the walking shortcut to the grocery store), excellent simple served breakfast, owner takes credit cards, building houses some interesting historical artifacts so make sure you tour the open rooms, elevator but a little strange and slow moving(usually faster to climb the stairs than take the elevator), property is next to a grain mill but you can’t hear a thing in your room, excellent WiFi much faster than you’ll get in the average hotel and it doesn’t kick you out every 10 minutes or disappear as guests check in. The negatives: this place may not suit you if you are looking for a normal hotel but this place allows you a good nights sleep at a nominal charge with everything you’ll need. Bottom line- we would happily stay here again.

The restaurant in the hotel is amazing as well. Breakfast was very good as well so nothing to add...just I would recommend it without any doubt!!!

Excellent location, slightly overpriced?
Reviewed By KmcusterThe only reason I say that this place was perhaps overpriced is that it was the most expensive place on my 10-day trip through this region, and for costing 10-15 Euros more than everywhere else, it didn't really offer that much more. In fact, I didn't even get breakfast. Otherwise, everything about it was lovely. Its location is fantastic, right on the riverfront and along the promenade through Aschach. The owner was very friendly and easy to chat with. Internet was iffy. I ended up having dinner at the downstairs restaurant and would definitely recommend it!

Convenient & clean!
Reviewed By lopej+ The hotel was centrally located, incredibly clean & comfortable. +The room was spacious & bathroom was clean. The bicycle room was secure! - The hotel restaurant drew quite a crowd; which is fine if you are interested in joining them - but incredibly loud until midnight. This was too much for me as I was cycling early the next morning. Tip: the hotel staff were very nice, but they didn't speak any English (which was fine, but may be noted)
