Great

Put Massett on your bucket list and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We stayed at the Chinook Lodge, it had all the amenities, clean and great wifi with a well stocked kitchen. You can sit in the back yard and have a glass of wine watching the birds and lovely trees. Brion who is a friendly fellow has a good knowledge of the area so can give you tips on where to go for hikes and sights of the island. It is close to all the restaurants and grocery stores. We were very happy with our stay at his Lodge Sharon and Colleen

Eagles Feast House

Eagles Feast B&B

Haida Gwaii is beautiful and untouched. Staying with April was awesome. Her house is 8,000 square feet of big windows with an ocean view. The house is located right on the water and pretty much every room is large with its own bathroom. Breakfast was a feast and a spread you would find at a fine dining restaurant and is included with your room. Most of the rooms are downstairs but it is a full walk out basement with gorgeous views of the ocean where you don't even feel that you are downstairs. There is also a fridge, coffee maker, microwave, kettle and a full set of dishes and kettle for you to use as well. April is an amazing artist and you can see all her work spread out upstairs. We picked out a couple small prints to take home with us as a souvenir. The B&B is only about 30 mins from Agate beach and about 75 mins from Skidegate. Next time we come, I would spend a few day at this side of Graham Island and a few days either in Skidegate or Queen Charlotte as is a completely different experience. The bonus was her dog Copper had 6 gorgeous puppies and April let them come out and run around so we could get some puppy lovin' in.

Awesome!

April is an artist of Haida ancestry and an excellent B&B host, she took time to talk with us. It was a very relaxing and amazing stay, the sound of the waves, and fresh air made for a restful sleep. Eagles, kingfishers and other birds were a joy to behold. Her breakfasts were healthy and varied, wish I had asked for recipes! The Yorkie poos and their mama were a plus. The room was great with water view, ensuite bathroom, table/chairs and couches. No tv, but we never missed it. There is a pool table and shuffleboard in the common room. When we asked about a fish and chip place, Sandy's was recommended and the food was delicious.

Alaska View Lodge

Alaska View Lodge is located along the north coast of Graham Island, between the town of Masset and Tow Hill. The lodge sits right on the beach overlooking Dixon Entrance and the distant Alaskan Islands. Surrounding us to the south is the ancient rain forest of Naikoon Provincial Park. This European-style bed & breakfast features comfortable and scenic accommodations, and is the perfect setting for tourists interested in exploring Haida Gwaii (the Queen Charlotte Islands).

Wild ways

Rustic - a base for exploration (beach, agate hunting, crab netting, walks, chanterelle hunting, introduction to Haida ways and art, fishing (sea and river) and so much more. Wild ways. No frills. Simple. Basic. Clean. Unpretentious. But the real gem of Alaska View Lodge is Ben, the host over the summer season: kind, thoughtful, worldly, culturally sensitive, historian, anthropologist, chef (he cooked us a delicious salmon dinner one evening and kindly entertained our daughter with his mandolin).
