We came to the information centre with kids, seeking a place for them to wait while the adults took turns in seeing the WWI museum next door. They have a well equipped children's corner and were welcoming us there with a smile, although we stayed for quite a while. They also have a good bookshop and souvenir shop and gave us great advice on places to eat later. But the best part of the information centre is the lady at the counter who really knows hospitality. We even saw customers returning and greeting her as old friends, which can only mean that she is the right person for the job. In a place so full of tourists, this might seem as an unnecessary service, but this personal type of hospitality is exactly what might make Kobarid a quality tourist destination and not just a place where (too many) people go.

Tourism services include information about accommodation, events, local businesses, gift shop, brochures and maps. Inside the Idrija Tourist Information Centre the exhibition "Written in the rocks" is located. With animations, video presentations and models you will get to know the story of Idrija's origin and get acquainted with rich natural, cultural and technical heritage.
